La Parada is an authentic tapas bar with a Spanish influence located on Bree Street in Cape Town. Having recently launched their new menu, we joined them to sample a few of their new dishes. Local ingredients and perfect flavour combinations are the focus for each and every dish on this stunning menu that will elevate La Parada to more than just a watering hole. Get stuck in, their menu is worth bragging about.

The Chef

Martin Senekal is the chef behind this new menu, recently appointed Executive Chef of La Parada Bree Street and will soon head up both La Parada Bree & Constantia Nek once the second venue opens this month. With previous experience at Cape Grace Hotel and The Showroom Restaurant, under Bruce Robertson, he is now enjoying his time with the Harbour House Group.

The New Menu

Keeping with the Spanish influence of the tapas menu, Martin has focused on fresh South African ingredients to create dishes which are not only delicious but picture perfect in presentation.

• The Menu

The La Parada menu offering retains a few favourite crowd pleasers with a fresh spin, and new restaurant signature dishes have been added namely the smoked tomato salad, seared sesame crusted tuna, pork belly and the heavenly apple and walnut donut dessert topped with a coconut macaron. Senekal ensures that he maintains and showcases the natural flavours of the freshest ingredients – all sauces, dressings and desserts are all made in-house.

Offering the ideal location to stop by after work and enjoy a few craft beers or perfectly mixed cocktails whilst indulging in mouth-watering tapas. With Senekal’s key eye for detail and a perfectionist nature, this menu promises not to disappoint.

P.S.: The restaurant is large enough for big groups, and is available to hire as a venue at a surcharge.
