Some of you may remember my AR build thread. This is the second build. The first became a 5.56 with M4 furniture and a TruGlo red dot sight. Along the way to completing that build I picked up a couple extra parts, a lower, an upper, an upper build kit, a lower build kit. All the basics that were going to be the same no matter what caliber it finished up as. Then I went through the caliber debate, 6.8, 6.5, 7.62, 300 BLK. I went back and forth till I decided on the 300 BLackout. So I ordered a 16" barrel, low pro gas block and tube. I got everything assembled today with the exception of the flash hider and sights. I thought I had a flash hider that would fit but it is the wrong thread pitch so I still have to order one of those. I am using the same BCG from my M4gery. S now I am ready to test fire it but I got no ammo! I may be able to squeeze in a range trip next week if I can arrange a sitter.
If anyone has a box or two of 300 BLK I could buy or swap for so I can test fire next week I would appreciate dropping me a message. I am in the Miami area so let me know! If I don't gt any ammo by next week I will just wait to test fire it. I still need to test fire the M4 and I have another new rifle that needs to be shot so no big deal if I can't get the Blackout ammo.
Pics to come but they will be very similar to the pics I posted in the AR thread as I moved the Magpul furniture over to this build so they are pretty much the same. The only difference is the low profile gas block. I will try to get pics of both of them up for comparison.
