Windsor Motor Group, the leading Dealer Group that operates fourteen dealerships in the wider Dublin area and Galway, is taking a proactive approach towards investing in its employees by offering unique training programmes. Eight employees of the Group were recently presented with their QQI Level 6 Management Development Certificate, after completing a specifically designed programme, which was delivered by Dublin firm Optimum and supported by Skillnets.

The high impact programme was specifically tailored to the retail motor industry and focused on developing the skills that lead to successful teams and business management. The programme enabled the aftersales employees to develop their skills in fostering an environment for innovation and continuous improvement. Modules in the programme included communication, self-management, organisational skills, managing teams for high performance, leadership, legislation and strategic planning.

Robbie O’Neill, Windsor Motor Group Aftersales Director described the training programmes as a win-win situation for everyone, allowing Windsor Motor Group to lead the way in industry skills training. “Our employees are the life-blood of our company and by investing in them, we will remain synonymous with quality workmanship and exceptional customer service. The motor industry is extremely competitive and we want to ensure that our team have the right skills and knowledge required to effectively execute their roles across our 14 dealerships. The employee gains by professional development and progression, the company gains by having happy and committed employees and the customer gains by receiving the best service and experience in the industry.”

Mary Harrison, Chief Executive, Optimum added “The training programme was designed in detail for Windsor Motor Group and was specifically aimed at enhancing and improving their abilities across a wide range of personal and business development skills.”

As well as selling new and used cars and commercial vehicles, Windsor Motor Group offers full vehicle servicing facilities in each dealership with fully qualified technicians. It also has retail and trade parts departments including extensive body repair facilities that are approved repairers for most insurance companies. The Group employs over 320 staff across its 14 dealerships.

Windsor Motor Group, through Sixt Leasing, also provides Fleet Management services to the large corporate and SME sectors.
