A freshly pressed rouge dress, arm party of golden bangles, boxy handbag and pair of flashy cut-out brogues: This is the cycling ensemble of a trendsetter. Granted, you won’t want to work up a sweat in this summer outfit, but that’s perfectly fine. You’re not out for exercise! You’re going sightseeing and, let’s be honest, drinking, on one of our favourite summer past times: the bike wine tour.
In Ontario, pick a weekend, pack up your bike and drive out to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Prince Edward County or Pelee Island. Southern Ontario is known for its vineyards plus plenty of bike trails where you can take your time coasting from one destination to the next. In B.C., pedal alongside the lake in the Okanagan Valley while enjoying gorgeous views and sunshine-y weather.
