I’ve completed three workouts so far this week.  In each of them, something kind of unexpected happened.

Workout #1: Core Fusion Barre at Exhale Spa Soho

I was the second person to arrive at class, so I had about 15-20 minutes to select a barre, get my weights, etc. The class filled up!  I couldn’t believe how many people could make a class right after work. We started with an arm section, which was actually pretty easy, so I wished I had picked heavier weights.  Then, we were asked to put back our weights, and when I returned, someone who had come into the class after we had started and gotten into a plank behind me had stolen my barre!  I was so stunned that I could even say anything, I just gaped at her for a few seconds and she gave me a sideways glance and turned the other way.  Well, normally I would just moved to another barre under this circumstance, but THERE WAS NO OTHER BARRE.  The class was packed. I ended up having to share a barre in the back corner.  Moral of the story, mark the shit out of your barre with a towel, nothing is fair in love and workouts.

It’s four days later, and clearly, I haven’t moved on.

Workout #2

Revolve-Rip Ride

I have a semi-regular Tuesday tradition of taking Rip Ride at 7:30PM with Kira Stokes.  The class is a little late for me, but Kira always makes it worth it. The class was no exception until someone fainted in the middle of it.  The room was crazy hot that night, it felt like bikram spinning or something.  So it wasn’t a surprise when a rider got off the bike and collapsed.  Fortunately, the class sprung into action, the EMS were called, water was brought and when they were ready, the rider was safely transported to the care of EMS professionals. The individual was okay, just FYI.  It was one of those crazy experiences that made me realize you should never be afraid to ask the fans to be turned on or the doors to be opened.  For those curious, the ride did continue about 15 minutes later.

Workout #3

Core Fusion Cardio

My morning CFC class yesterday was slightly less dramatic than my other two workouts.  The only surprise was that I ran into an old colleague I hadn’t seen in ages.  It was my first class with Maliaka and she was fabulous!  It was one of my favorite Core Fusion classes of all time.  It really made me a morning workout believer.  I left the class and felt fabulous all morning!
