New Orleans eventually lost in the thirteenth inning when shortstop Nick Franklin hit his fourth home run of the season. The switch-hitting Franklin is one of the youngest players in the Pacific Coast League. Baseball America ranked him as the fifth best prospect in the Seattle Mariners organization.

He needs to build on this success and force a promotion to Triple-A soon if he wants to maintain his prospect status.

Cody Keefer reached base three times, raising his season line to .250.308/.396. The 22-year-old outfielder batted .322/400/.417 in short-season ball last year. Any kind of production from Keefer would be a great success for the Marlins, considering the fact that he was drafted in the 15th round.
The UCLA graduate possesses a decent hit tool, although his path to the majors will be complicated by his lack of range in center field. He likely won't be able to hit enough to make it as a left-fielder.
