Grom (junior) downhill skateboarder James Jager was featured in the latest issue of Do It Now Magazine. The picture was taken at the Fair Cape Downhill Challenge held on a closed road in Durbanville, Western Cape on 4 and 5 December 2010. It may not look like it but James is going well over 80km/h here!
Look out for the article on downhill skateboarding written by First Natures Massimo Bastiotto in the next issue. Here's a sneak peek:
Since the beginning of time, man has been fascinated with the Earth's natural forces and has found many ways to manipulate these forces to his benefit or to fulfil a need. One of man's most primal needs has been the pure rush of adrenaline. It has been found and fulfilled in many ways, of which gravity being the largest provider of this rush.
Simply riding a bicycle, pushing a skateboard or running, the force of gravity is constantly acting on us. Man has never been happy with only what has been placed before him; he is constantly looking to make things better, higher and faster. Out of man's frustration and curiosity, gravity sports came to life.
