A new six month contract opportunity has arisen for a Security Engineer to join this leading,very well recognised National organisation based in inner CBD.

The Security Engineer will be required tobe responsible for the day to day management of the Companies network security, solving diverse and complex problems; implementing and maintaining successful technology platform solutions.

Some key accountabilities include assisting architects in developing detailed infrastructure designs, installing and configuring hardware and software, deploying solutions into production, providing system incident management and monitoring to ensure optimum performance, capacity, and availability.

Further Key Responsibilities for this role will include the following; Solution Development: Install and configure hardware and software in accordance with the detailed design. Testing: Test the configured solution to ensure it meets the needs of the project whilst maintain company standards and consistent with overall architecture design. This includes performance, sociability and functional testing. Deployment: Work with other infrastructure teams and IT service owners to successfully deploy required solutions into production. Availability and Capacity Management: Ensure that the systems are adequately maintained to meet the desired availability targets. Incident management: Manage escalated incidents as they occur to return the system to an operating state as soon as practicably possible. Change management: Define, test and implement non-project based changes in order to ensure the smooth running of the organisations infrastructure. Problem Management: Assist in the determination and resolution of underlying problems with the organisation infrastructure. Provide feedback and advice to team members and leaders about operational requirements and technical developments in the storage and backup space. Work with business and technology stakeholders to provide network solutions on a daily basis and support to infrastructure related projects as assigned.

To be successful for this role you will require the following key experience and expertise;
Qualifications Relevant industry qualifications, CISSP, CCNP, CCIP, Tertiary qualifications or expected completion preferred ITIL certification preferred Other relevant qualifications. Up to 5-7 years Proven IT experience managing, designing, and implementing enterprise information security Experience developing, maintaining and supporting mission critical 24x7 services, Proven experience in solving technical issues. Exposure to security standards, ISO27001, PCI DSS. Proven experience in maintaining complex IT infrastructure Exposure to highly regulated environments preferred Knowledge Experience configuring and managing Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper and Check Point Firewalls. Strong knowledge of configuring, managing and tuning IPS/IDS Extensive knowledge in configuration and management of SSL VPNs. Vulnerability Management
