A new 12 month contract opportunity has arisen for a DataStage Solution Designer to join this large scale Queensland Government Department based in Brisbane north.
The DataStage Solution Designer will be required to perform professional duties in the development, support and better practice enhancement of the IBM Information Server platform components of Business Intelligence and data warehousing environment.
Key Responsibilities for the DataStage Solution Designer will be as follows:
Develop logical and physical designs for data warehousing and information management solutions.
Develop Business Requirement Specifications for data warehousing and information management solutions.
Provide technical expertise and guidance in the enterprise BI/DW environment, incorporating the IBM Information Server platform (DataStage, InfoSphere Business Glossary, InfoSphere Metadata Workbench and others), working with the IBM Cognos platform for BI analytics and reporting
Act as an SME for better-practice use of the IBM Information Server platform for both project and operational decisions.
Lead small teams in the delivery of BI designs and mentor team members as and when required.
Resolve technical and product problems.
Participate in quality peer reviews and walk-throughs of deliverables as required.
Provide timely and accurate reporting of progress as directed
Provide an appropriate level of documentation of the work undertaken
To be successful for this role you will require the following key experience and skills:
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience with the IBM Information Server platform, including DataStage InfoSphere Business Glossary, InfoSphere Metadata Workbench and InfoSphere Information Analyzer.
Excellent understanding of the best-practice DW techniques and practices, specifically around IBM Information Server, and demonstrated experience in translating best-practice to operational decisions.
Demonstrated experience at working with enterprise and solution architects and ETL developers to deliver outstanding solutions..
Excellent understanding of the best-practice use of the Information Server platform components to deliver end-to-end lineage, metadata and governance practices.
Demonstrated ability to provide effective transfer of skills to other team members.
Demonstrated experience in the development of Data Warehouse solutions.
Demonstrated experience and skills in gathering and documenting business requirements.
A proven ability to lead a small team of ICT professionals.
