An incomplete cast copper alloy single loop buckle and strap, medieval in date (c AD1300-1500). The buckle is sub-square in shape, with a straight bar attaching to the intact strap. The opposite end of the buckle frame has a flattened angled edge where the pin would have rested (now missing). The strap comprises a single piece of copper sheeting, folded over around the bar of the buckle. The strap has a single rivet in the far end, but is incomplete and snapped off on one side of the copper sheeting. Where the strap joins the bar there is a corroded section where the pin would have attached to the bar. The buckle is quite plain and undecorated. The buckle has a dark green patina, and the strap has a light green patina.
