Qualifications:

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Implement and enforce regulations and policies on procurement management 

Develop and implement procurement strategies 

Implement best practice procurement procedures, prepare and manage the procurement budget, establish supplier selection and evaluation guidelines, foster supportive relationships with key suppliers and provide leadership to the procurement team 

Assistant Procurement Officer – Grade E/F (Mombasa Campus) 

Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, Business, Economics or related field from a recognized institution 

Bachelors Degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management/ Supplies & Materials management OR Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics from a recognized institution 

At least five (5) years experience in Purchasing and Supplies Management, three (3) of which at a senior management level in a public institution 

Assistant Procurement Officer – Grade C/D (Kericho, Dadaab, Mombasa, Kitui and Main Campus) 

Qualifications: 

Bachelors Degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management/ Supplies & Materials management OR Bachelors degree in Business, Economics or related field from a recognized institution 

At least four (4) years experience in Purchasing and Supplies Management, two (2) of which should be in a public institution

Assistant Procurement Officer – GRADE A/B (Mombasa Campus) 

Qualifications: 

At least three (3) years experience in Purchasing and Supplies Management, two (2) of which should be in a public institution 

Must be computer literate 

Common qualifications and duties and responsibilities for the following four (4) positions:

Common Duties and Responsibilities: 

Receive and process purchase requisitions from user departments/sections 

Consult with the Procurement Manager to assist user departments in getting specifications and terms of reference right 

Receive and review requisitions for clarity, adequate specifications to ensure that bidders will be able to respond to the quotations appropriately 

Consolidate and prepare proposals for recommendations for award to assigned requisitions 

Prepare procurement transactions and provide a liaison link between suppliers and user departments

Provide support in the negotiation of contractual agreement with suppliers to ensure that service, quality, added value, lowest total cost, security of supplies and the deployment of the suppliers’ capabilities are secured 

Ensure that internal customer and supplier relationship is well maintained for the procurement category to deliver breakthrough performance in cost, service and quality 

Finalize purchase orders, file and archive documents 

Engage suppliers on performance issues and provide feedback 

Up-date and maintain records of all the procurement transactions

Senior Stores Assistant - Grade C/D (Main Campus) 

Qualifications: 

Bachelors Degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management/ Supplies & Materials management OR Bachelors Degree in Business, Economics or related field 

At least four (4) years experience in Purchasing and Supplies Management, two (2) of which should be in a public institution

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Reports to the Head University Stores 

Supervise and allocate staff duties 

Ensure that the store is in good and secure condition for storage 

Verify that goods received are as per the specification, and that the laid down procedure for receiving goods is followed 

Ensure proper records are maintained

Determine and maintain recorded stock level, lead time, buffers stock and safety stock levels 

Raise purchase requests as and when required to ensure agreed customer service level is maintained 

Undertake stock taking, reconcile physical stock and stock ledger balances, and raise monthly reports on obsolete, slow moving and damaged stock 

Any other duties allocated by the Head University stores 

Stores Assistant - Grade A/B (Mombasa, Kitui, Kericho, Nakuru, Nyeri, and Dadaab Campus) 

Qualifications: 

At least Three (3) years experience in Purchasing and Supplies Management, two (2) of which should be in a public institution 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Reports to the Senior Stores Assistant 

Ensure that the stores requisitions have the necessary authorization and approval 4 

Maintain and update stock ledgers 

Costing of stores requisition from departments 

Ensure stocks are kept at optimal levels 

Verify issues and receipts of stocks 

Reconcile physical stock and stock ledger 

Raise stock received notes and stock return notes 

Verify the requests from users and confirm availability 

Any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Stores Assistant 

Common qualifications for the following two positions: 

Senior Stores Assistant – Grade C/D (Main Campus) 

Stores Assistant – Grade A/B (Mombasa, Kitui, Kericho, Nakuru, Nyeri and Dadaab Campus)

Sub-specialization or Ph D qualification will be an added advantage

3. School of Agriculture & Enterprise Development Field Technician in Charge of Animals – GRADE A/B 

Qualifications:

Diploma in Animal Production and Health or related field 

KCE Division III/ KCSE Mean Grade C (plain)and above 

At least two (2) years work experience in handling animals specifically dairy cattle, pigs, poultry, rabbits, sheep and goats 

Computer literate 

Duties and responsibilities: 

Co-ordinate routine livestock management practices e.g. Milking, dehorning and so on 

Ensure that all animals (cattle, sheep, goats, rabbits, chicken and pigs) are fed properly daily 

Ensure that the animal units are cleaned on a daily basis 

Update records for animals and tools/ equipments of the farm on a daily basis 

Closely observe animals for early identification of any anomalies and take appropriate action 

Organize practicals for students as required by Lecturers 

Carry out any other duties in the farm as directed by the farm management 

4. School of Education Special Needs Education Department 

Lecturer 

Area of Specialization: Speech and Language Pathology

Qualifications: 

PhD in Speech and Language Pathology or related field from a recognized institution 

Certificate of Clinical competence for Speech Language Pathology from a recognized institution 

At least three (3) years university teaching experience in a recognized university 

Demonstrate ability to teach at least two of the following areas: 

Basic Communication Processes 

Speech and Language Pathology 

Basic Audiology 

Autistic Spectrum and Adult Language Disorders 

Assessment & Diagnosis Language Disorders 

Demonstrate ability to supervise graduate students in the following areas: 

Clinical practicum 

Phonology disorders

5. School of applied Huma Sciences Community Resource Management and Extension Department Kenyatta University Baby Day Care Centre 

To cater for children whose ages range from six (6) months to three (3) years. 

Community Nurse – Grade C/D 

Qualifications:

Certificate in Community Health Nursing from a recognized institution 

KCE Division IV/ KCSE Mean Grade C- (minus)and above 

At least two (5) years relevant work experience 

Medical Certificate of Good Health 

Certificate of Good Conduct with copies of the finger prints attached 

Registered by Nursing Council of Kenya 

Other qualities:

Offset Litho Printing Machine Operator – Grade A/B

Qualifications: 

Diploma in Printing Technology from a recognized institution 

KCE Division III/ KCSE Mean Grade C (Plain) and above 

At least three (3) years work experience in a busy offset lithographic printing press set up 

Basic mechanical/ equipment maintenance skills 

Computer literate 

Duties: 

Make ready, operate and maintain a range of offset printing and other related offset press equipment and accessories 

Experience with the Hieldelberg range of offset presses is essential 

Knowledge of new digital offset press technology will be an added advantage. 

Assistant Offset Litho Printing Machine Operator - GRADE III/IV 

Qualifications: 

Certificate in Printing Technology from a recognized institution 

KCE Division IV/ KCSE Mean Grade D (Plain) and above 

At least three (3) years work experience in a busy offset lithographic printing press set up 

Experience in the use of OCE VP2110 and CPS900 digital press 

Basic mechanical/ equipment maintenance skills 

Computer literate 

Duties: 

Make ready, operate and maintain a range of offset printing and other related offset press equipment and accessories 

Experience with the Hieldelberg range of offset presses is essential

Assistant Digital Printing Press Operator – Grade III/IV 

Qualifications: 

Certificate in Printing Technology from a recognized institution 

KCE Division IV/ KCSE Mean Grade D (Plain) and above 

At least three (3) years work experience operating a digital press 

Skills in basic operation/maintenance of various copiers/ duplication equipments 

Experience in the use of OCE VP2110 and CPs 900 digital press 

Computer literate 

Knowledge of Adobe Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and CorelDraw digital design packages will be an added advantage. 

Experience in the use of Duplo Digital Systems 2000, DBP500 and DF1000 print finishing systems will be an added advantage. 

Book-Binder / Print-Finishing Assistant – Grade III/IV

Qualifications: 

Certificate in Printing Technology/ Printing &Packaging (Print Finishing option) from a recognized institution 

KCE Division IV/ KCSE Mean Grade D (Plain) and above 

At least three (3) years relevant work experience in a busy and reputable binding/ print-finishing establishment 

Experience with all book binding and print – finishing processes 

Computer literate 

Duties: 

Start, operate and maintain a wide range of book binding and print finishing equipment and accessories 

Knowledge of post – press and print finishing operations like scoring, numbering, punching, die cutting, embossing, coating, foil – stamping, lamination, UV coating among others will be an added advantage. 

7. Directorate of E-Learnig 

Instructural Designer – Grade 12 

Success candidate will work with a team of content developers of online programmes. 

Qualifications: 

Masters Degree in Instructional Design or related field from a recognized university 

At least three (3) years experience of Instructional Design and/ or technical writing experience

Experience in web-based Course Development and Instructional Design tools such as Adobe suite, MS Office Suite, Web development tools and usage of Moodle Learning Management Systems (LMS) 

Content Developer – Grade 11 

Successful candidates will be responsible for the development, preparation and editing of interactive online content. 

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Instructional Design or related field from a recognized university 

At least two (2) years experience in web – related development 

Possess good skills on: 

Information mapping 

Ms Office suite 

Photoshop 

Illustrator 

Audio/video auditing software

Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator - Grade 11 (4 Positions) 

The successful applicants will be responsible for the maintenance and administration of Moodle LMS, its infrastructure, preparation, and support of online interactive offerings. 

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field from a recognized university 

Relevant professional certifications 

At least five (5) years experience in Moodle LMS administration in a large-sized institution/organization 

Demonstrate good knowledge in standard applications programming and in systems analysis/ design techniques 

Experience in PHP, JavaScript, VB.Net and C# MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Windows and Linux Operating systems 

8. Directorate of Catering Services Catering Manager - Grade 11 (2 Positions) 

Qualifications: 

Bachelors Degree / Higher National Diploma in Institutional Management or related field from a recognized institution 12 

At least five (5) years experience, three (3) of which as Senior Catering Officer/ Hotels Officer Grade E/F in a large organization preferably in an institution of higher learning or in a hospitality industry 

Kenyan citizen

Terms of Service: 

For those applying for teaching positions above Tutorial Fellow they will be employed on permanent and pensionable terms. 

The terms of service for non teaching positions include a generous medical scheme, house allowance and commuting allowance.
