It’s Baby Shower day!  We are excited to finally share all the details about Steffany’s girl baby shower.   As soon as she told me she was pregnant, I called throwing her a shower.  As it got closer, I realized more and more that we usually do these kinds of things together, but this one was for HER- how was I going to pull it all together?!  Ha ha!  Unfortunately, she ended up helping quite a bit more than the Mom of honor probably should.  I did manage to keep most of the decorations a surprise, which made it so fun when it was time to put them all up.  We held the shower at Steffany’s parents house, which makes for a beautiful setting no matter what you do!  (Also, just in case you didn’t know, Steff had baby Berkley on April 21-so most of these shower gifts are now being used.

Let’s start with the invitation.  The invitation is what we based the entire style and color scheme for the shower on.  I created the invitation and every other baby shower print we used all on my phone!  Yep!  I used the Rhonna Designs App – - -do you have it?  It is amazing!  So fun to play around in and it was so easy to make every print go together.  Simple,  but so pretty.  Here’s the invitation:

We used the power of Facebook to do most of the inviting.  We created an event, uploaded the invitation and selected everyone who was invited.  We sent out a few by mail and a few through text as needed, but for the majority- a Facebook invite was great!

The focal point of the shower was the mantel adorned with these cute banners.  I made the circle banner simply by sewing  paper circles together.  One banner was just not enough!

For the burlap banner, I used laminated burlap sheets.  Did you know this existed?!!  Somehow, Steff and I didn’t.  What have we been missing?!  This stuff is fabulous!  It doesn’t fray, holds it’s shape perfectly, is easy to cut-perfect for making a banner!

I cut the burlap sheets into pennant shapes and sewed them to some matching ribbon.  The letters and hearts are vinyl  cut with the Silhouette.

Because we had the space, we set up enough tables and chairs for the shower guests to sit to eat.  If space is available, this makes the shower feel like a nice luncheon.  We used white disposable table cloths and burlap table runners (from my sisters wedding reception HERE.)  We set out a small bowl of chocolates in the center with mason jars of baby’s breath on both ends for centerpieces.

The centerpieces were dressed up with felt.  I found this cute felt in the perfect coral color.  I cut it into strips and hot glued it around each mason jar.

Then I made a very simple bow out of white felt, added a touch of gold ribbon to the center of the bow and hot glued it on.  I also used the mason jar ring for another touch of gold.

This is some table top decor for an entry table.  That ‘Sweet Baby Girl’ print?  You guessed it- the Rhonna Designs app.  The letter ‘B’ is a thrift store find, the bow is a piece of scrap fabric.  The gold frame and little succulent are from the Dollar Store.

A couple more Rhonna Design prints I created and Dollar Store frames.

One of the highlights of the shower was the headband making station.  We have a whole post about it HERE.

For the food table, I filled these cute jars (from the Wood Connection) with little baby shoes and hair bows.  A perfect baby girl centerpiece in the middle of the food.

We served chicken salad on croissants, pasta salad, veggies and dip, and chips.  To make the food look pretty, we lined some baskets with wax paper and then filled them with food.  Another trick to a pretty food table is to use boxes to give different levels. Put the table cloth over the boxes and all before placing the food on the serving table.

Of course, there were also desserts!  Yummy mini cheesecakes made by Steffany’s mom.

This is the ‘Thank you’ table we had right by the front door for guests to see on their way out.  A big help for the mom to be!

Last, we had this double sided chalkboard sign on the front porch.

There you have it!  We had a great time celebrating this baby girl and showering the pretty mama with gifts!
