With less than 24 hours until room reveal, the contestants were flat out as they made the finishing touches on their master bedroom and walk-in robes to meet their deadline. As the contestants showcased creative storage solutions, clever space maximisation tactics and impressive layout symmetry, we’ve come up with some tips about how you can optimise walk-in robe storage and functionality.

How to make the most of your walk-in robe
Mould prevention
To prevent mould from infiltrating your walk-in robe and contaminating your clothes and accessories, ensure that the area is well ventilated. This can be done by ensuring that windows are left open to improve air quality and circulation, or installing a dehumidifier or moisture absorber.

Results from the master bedroom and walk-in robe competition
As Week 3 is complete, it was crunch time for the contestants as they received feedback from the judges for their master bedroom and walk-in robe.
As Shay and Dean were knocked off their pedestal, Suzi and Voni took out a perfect score of 30/30 from the judging panel, leaving them with a $10,000 funding injection (which was convenient considering the budget warning that was issued from Scott Cam just days before).

It’s only been done a few times on The Block, but this week Suzi and Voni took out a perfect score of 30/30.
“They really know how to pull something different out of the bag, every week”, Darren said as he entered the room.
All judges agreed that their master bedroom felt like a gentlemen’s club: “This is one of those rooms where I just feel like pouring myself a whisky and curling up on that bed to read and not leaving”, Neil said.
“Even though the bookshelf is half-full, you know that when it’s full, it’s going to feel really grounded, and there’s so much history in here”, he said.
“What I love is the way they’re working backwards because back when they did the bathroom it felt a bit clubby but now I can see exactly where they wanted to go and now I can see the journey that they wanted to take us on. They actually had this bedroom in mind when they delivered that bathroom because that is the bathroom that belongs to this”, he said.
Although the judges expressed concern about how Suzi and Voni may be faring on the budget front, Shaynna said: “I love their guts, I love their spunk and I love their direction even though it’s not my own personal taste, it will be a lot of other people’s, without a doubt.”
Kingi and Caro

Total score: 27.5/30
Although Kingi and Caro were desperate for a win (as they’ve come second place in the previous competitions), it seems that the pair are staying in the runner-up slot this time round.
When the judges first walked into the master bedroom, they felt overwhelmed by the rendernered bed head in the middle of the room: “That felt a bit blocked when I walked in the door and this was right in front of me, but now I’m in here I actually feel differently, I actually think this is really cool”, Neale said.All judges loved the ceiling with the rendered structured detail: “I think it’s really exciting” , Shaynna said.
Neale commented on the consistency of their apartment: “They’ve taken that reference of Melbourne and they’ve moved it on in a very clever way...I love that they’ve picked the colours in the art and used them very softly in all the furnishings”, he said.
However, Shaynna didn’t believe the retro chair worked well with the Asian-style side table: “A leather chair there is going to bring the sophisticated level up”, she said.
For the walk-in robe, the judges commented on the “magnificent beams” that were rendered and said that the space transitioned well.
Just to top it off, the judges loved the Breaking Bad artwork and Neale was glad they resisted graffiti again.
Shay and Dean

The feedback for Shay and Dean’s master bedroom and walk-in robe was mixed.
“It’s like they’ve opened a trend book and gone tick, tick, tick, tick...it has all of the successes of the last bedroom and that probably is what's working against it.. there’s nothing in here that’s an evolution, it’s just another version of the same thing that we saw last week”, Darren said.
Neale then added: “Which actually makes it the least individual of all the bedrooms we’ve seen today… This apartment should be the icing on the cake and when we walked into that bathroom a couple of weeks ago in Week 1, I remember walking in that day and thinking ‘yes, this really feels like the penthouse’”, he said.
Shaynna thought that the level of sophisticated needed to be higher: “This is very safe”, she said.
However, the judges were more impressed by the walk-in robe: “This is bloody beautiful. I like the colour palette, I love those brass hangings they are just beautiful and I love the symmetry in here”, Darren beamed.Neil also praised the use of fixtures and fittings in the walk-in robe that echoed the ones which were used in the bathroom.
Luke and Ebony
Darren: 7.5
Shaynna: 7
Neale: 7.5
Total score: 22/30
The judges were impressed that Luke and Ebony could dust themselves off and deliver something with confidence this time round, after their setback last week.
“It’s got a sense of luxury, it’s got a sense of glamour, it’s quite theatrical...this room has personality in spades. I think it has a nice heritage feel to it, and the strange, kooky angles make it feel modern”, Neale said.
However, Darren disagreed as he thought the design accentuated the angles of the room: “It doesn’t work for me, I hate saying that but it doesn’t work for me. It feels too angular… I wanna see something softer, gentler”, he said.
Once again, the contestants were critiqued for over-designing: “The problem is that there’s almost 3 different styles.. that bed head is almost retro, we’ve got deco with a bit of regency classic..”, Shaynna said.
For the walk-in robe, Shaynna said that the moulbury didn’t work well with the colour of timber and that it was lacking consistency: “I feel like they’re three separate rooms that haven’t been thought about as once space”, she said.
Andrew and Whitney
Darren: 6
Shaynna: 6
Neale: 6.5
Total score: 18.5/30
For Andrew and Whitney, it was all too little too late this week as they were unable to complete their master bedroom and walk-in robe.
Darren thought the concept of the room was “terrific”, but the execution was terrible.
The judges liked that Andrew and Whitney listened to the judges' feedback and tried to make it more sophisticated and take it up a notch.
“What a shame that they had his big idea that they were unable to finish because I reckon this would have been really cool”, Neale said.
“Half of what they’ve delivered is looking pretty good, but there is so much missing that we’re basically looking at 50% of what might have been”, he said.
For the walk-in robe, the judges believed that the planning was poor as there was paint and plaster all over the expensive carpet.
The judge's advice? Treat every hour like it’s your last.
