About Contiki and its history
Contiki was founded in 1962 and have been providing amazing travel experiences to 18- to 35-year olds ever since. The company was founded by a young man from New Zealand named John Anderson. John arrived in London and wanted to travel around Europe but didn’t want to travel alone. Instead, he put a deposit on a minibus and gathered a group of people. The group spent 12 weeks travelling Europe together and it all started from there. In 1962, he advertised his next European trip, which marked the birth of Contiki Holidays. From the very beginning, it was all about the youth market. Over the years, Contiki has expanded significantly to operate all around the world.
