The topic of medical marijuana program expansion has been the key point at all the cannabis summits held in past couple of months. In one of the meetings held at an Informational Town Hall in Alexandria, the veterans in the field of Medical Cannabis discussed both the sides of the issues. Senator Perry Clark while responding to a question made a statement that since the country is already facing heroin problem, there is no need to legalize another drug.

There were several attempts at the summit to link heroin and marijuana. However, Senator Clark tried to ignore this attempt to discuss marijuana and heroin on the same platform. He mentioned a report published in the Journal of American Medical Association that reveals 25% drop in the deaths caused due to the opioid drug overdose in the states legalizing medical cannabis programs.
