ZIMBABWE Warriors coach Callisto Pasuwa has named his squad for the upcoming game against Guinea in the final African Nations qualifier on September 4 at Stade du 28 Septembre in Conakry.

The 21 member squad comprises of most of the players that managed to qualify for the Gabon 2017 finals excluding Warriors talisman Khama Billiat and Hardlife Zvirekwi.

Zvirekwi has been ruled out following his suspension by the Confederation of African Football for having picked two yellow cards in earlier Group L games, while talented forward Khama Billiat is for a different reason as coach Callisto Pasuwa looks to give a rest to the Mamelodi Sundowns man.

According to Zifa website, Pasuwa said, “With Khama [Billiat] we have decided to let him rest because he has been busy with his club’s African safari commitments.”

Pasuwa said, the match is going to be used as a gauge to measure their preparedness for the Gabon AFCON finals to be held early next year.

“This match is still important to the team because we are going to use it as a yardstick to measure our progress as a unit and our preparedness for the Gabon AFCON finals,” he said.

Team manager, Shariff Mussa said players are expected to arrive in camp on August 28.

“All players are expected to troop into camp on August 28 and training sessions begin on the following day,” said Mussa.

Zimbabwe are already through to the finals and will finish as group winners regardless of the outcome of the other Group L encounter between Swaziland and Malawi.
