The Honda CB Hornet 160R might replace the slow-selling Trigger upon its launch in December first week.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) that recently launched the CB Shine SP in the country, is now all set to bring in the much-anticipated Honda CB Hornet 160R that the company had unveiled at the 2015 Honda ReVFest earlier this year. Though the company already has a couple of 160cc bikes, Unicorn and Trigger, the CB Hornet will target buyers looking for a slightly more premium product. The Honda CB Hornet might replace the slow-selling Trigger upon its launch.
Set to take on the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Yamaha FZ and other motorcycles in the 150cc-160cc segment, the Honda CB Hornet 160R will derive its power from a 162.71cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that develops 14.5bhp of maximum power and 14.61Nm of peak torque. This engine is claimed to offer high acceleration and sporty performance with Honda Eco Technology (HET). The same powertrain also does duty on the Honda CB Unicorn 160.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R’s design is inspired from the CX-01 concept that was showcased at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. With features such as high-mounted handlebar, multi-spoke alloy wheels with black coat, single piece seat, dual-tone front mudguard, X-shaped LED tail-lamps and other styling elements, the Honda CB Hornet 160R looks very sporty.
