2013 NFL Free Agent Primer | NFL Philosophy
The NFL’s new league year begins Tuesday at 4:00pm eastern time. That is also when the NFL free agency window opens. Teams have been able to negotiate with certified NFL agents who represent players who are due to be unrestricted free agents since Saturday morning at 12:00am. While the memo that the league sent out Friday to teams essentially renders this "legal tampering period" moot, it’s still an opportunity for teams to get an idea of how the market is setting up for Monday.

As the throwing session wore on, the criticism grew sharper. Not from the coach. From the player himself. "And I underthew him by about five [expletive] yards," Pat White said recently after missing his receiver by five bleepin' yards on a post-corner route designed to beat Cover 2 defenses. "Son of a [expletive]."

Sunday draft notes " Seahawks Draft Blog
We expected to have a better idea of Jarvis Jones’ stenosis issue after the combine, but there were no leaked medical reports to confirm or deny what USC had feared back in 2009. So we were left to speculate. Clearly teams will be wary of anything to do with stenosis, particularly if there are life threatening consequences. Yet Jones wasn’t only cleared to play by Georgia, he also had two relatively healthy seasons in the SEC.

Draft analyst likes Datone Jones for Seahawks at 25 - Blog - MyNorthwest.com
"It makes a lot of sense for what Seattle wants to do. Obviously they want to get stronger on the defensive line, both inside and outside, and that's Datone Jones," Brugler told Jim Moore, Dave Wyman and Danny O'Neil Thursday. "He can play outside as a pass rusher, defensive end, but he also has experience lining up inside at defensive tackle. For UCLA, in their three-man front, he played both the five-technique, he played zero-technique at the nose tackle. He's done a lot of things."

*Darren Fells might not stick with the Seahawks, but don’t be surprised if he impresses. Fells was an all-state tight end in high school before choosing to play basketball in college. He then embarked on a professional basketball career that took him to Finland, Mexico, Belgium, France and Argentina. He never lost the football itch, however, and he clearly has the genes for it. His brother Daniel Fells is with the Patriots. Darren is 6-6, 281. The Seahawks tried out the 27 year old as a defensive end, and weren’t overly impressed. Then they had him run some pass routes, and liked what they saw. He looked like an efficient runner, and he caught the ball well. They signed him last week as a tight end, and are anxious to see him in pads.
