Packers Replay: Thursday game report
PLAYER OF THE GAME He loathes the media, loves Skittles and is still cranked into full-on Beast Mode as a running back. Nearing 2,000 carries for his career, Marshawn Lynch ran over, around and through the Packers' defense for 110 yards on 20 attempts. Part of the reason may be the lack of 320-, 330-pound bodies up front on the defensive line. The absence of B.J. Raji was sorely evident in this one. Part of the reason was poor inside linebacker play. Brad Jones was walled out of plays, and others missed several tackles. On Lynch's 9- and 3-yard touchdown runs, he danced through into the end zone untouched. The Packers were bullied up front, sure. But Lynch reminded young Eddie Lacy who the true workhorse in the NFC is under the national spotlight.

“Congratulations to Seattle. I thought they played very well, really, in a nutshell. As far as coming in here and playing this style of football game … we started with running the football – and we’re not quite where we needed to be there. And definitely did not stop the run. So our fundamental inconsistencies throughout the game coincides with untimely penalties.

Aaron Rodgers' post-game press conference in Seattle - JSOnline
“I wasn’t really surprised by the way they played. … They always tackle well in the secondary. Both the safeties do and the cornerbacks are athletic. Linebackers are range-y. When you try to run the ball in those situations, there’s going to be a free hat, whether it is at the line of scrimmage or five yards down. Past the line of scrimmage, those guys come up and make tackles. We didn’t break a lot of tackles. We didn’t have a lot of explosive gains in the passing game or the running game. And we had too many penalties.”
Instant Reaction: Seahawks pound the Packers | Seahawks Draft Blog
This was a rout. One of those games with a deceptive scoreline — even at 36-16. The quick-tempo offense Green Bay installed played right into Seattle’s hands. Pete Carroll wants to avoid conceding explosive plays and force turnovers. Chipping away on short passes he’ll take every time. Bend but don’t break. The scheme helped convert a few 3rd and 5′s but they never truly tested the secondary.

"I can tell you a bunch of stories about my communication with him during that process," Jeremiah said. "For example, I interviewed him at the Senior Bowl. At the end of the interview, you always ask for players' numbers so you can get in touch with them -- he asked for my number. And then I would get text messages from him periodically saying, 'If the Eagles draft me, I will lead the Eagles to championships.' You know he would send me these text messages. "... So leading up, even the day of the draft, the first day of the draft: 'If the Eagles draft me I will lead them to championships.' He was sending me these text messages," Jeremiah said. "Well, we really liked him, and I thought there was a very real chance he was going to end up being a Philadelphia Eagle there. And then of course, Seattle ends up taking him."
