Hey Everyone!! Jamie over at The Perpetual Page Turner posted a really fun survey the other day and after seeing all the other people participating I decided that Erin and I really needed to as well! :) Hope you learn a little something new about each of us~
Erin's Responses:
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Charlotte Stein and Lara Adrian
Best Sequel Ever:
Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
Currently Reading:
Not a Drop to Drink by Mindy McGinnis
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Non-fat, no whip mocha please
E-reader or Physical Book?
Both – I like physical books when I travel because then I can read while the plane is taking off but otherwise I love my nook because I don’t need to have a light on at night.
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
Gansey from The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle) – He’s a little nerdy, a bit awkward socially and completely my favorite.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
A Wounded Name – Dot Hutchinson
Hidden Gem Book:
Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide to Getting Girls by Tellulah Darling
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
BEA – This event proved just how seriously everyone takes reading/publishing/blogging and it was definitely an important moment for me to take it all in.
Just Finished:
In Time by Alexandra Bracken
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
There aren’t really any books I won’t read. I try to go in with an open mind and if the story sounds interesting , I will usually give it a try.
Longest Book You’ve Read:
Breaking Dawn – 756 pages
Major book hangover because of:
Star Cursed (The Cahill Witch Chronicles #2) by Jessica Spotswood
Number of Bookcases You Own:
2 – both are stuffed full and I have started having some piles around my room….I may need another soon I just don’t know where I would put it.
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
There are a few that have made it to multiple readings and the list isn’t long only because I have so many new books to read…I always say I’m going to re-read the ones I love but it is usually less often than I sometimes wish. Knowing that, these have made the cut in the last year Shadow and Bone, Throne of Glass, Sea of Tranquility and The Sky is Everywhere
Preferred Place To Read:
In bed…getting all comfy and curling up to read is my favorite.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“I'm in love with you," he said quietly.
"Augustus," I said.
"I am," he said. He was staring at me, and I could see the corners of his eyes crinkling.
"I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
Reading Regret:
I have always loved to read and for a while I wasn’t able to include it into the many things I had going on so I stopped for a while…I have come to realize that reading is my stress reliever and I need it. I regret that I wasn’t able to balance it in but am happy I have come back to it.
Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series):
Matched by Ally Condie, Fallen by Lauren Kate, and Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. Someday I will get to these…I’m worried about the endings though.
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay, Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell, Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Sarah Maas – she writes the best stories, is down to earth and has the best sense of humor, and every time we see her she actually remembers who we are….
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3) by Tahereh Mafi
Worst Bookish Habit:
I keep buying them…no matter how many I have yet to read, there are always more that I have to have. I may need an intervention.
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
UK version of Throne of Glass….the one where Sarah Maas calls me a “baller”…yep, it’s true.
Your latest book purchase:
I finally bought my very own hard copy of My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick. This has been on my favorites list forever and I don’t know why I never had it before.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
Haze (The Rephaim #2) by Paula Weston
Jaime's Answers!
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Looks like it's Julie Kagawa for me!! 13 books!!
Best Sequel Ever:
Crown of Midnight- I swear this book lived up to everything I had hoped for and more.
Currently Reading:
Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa (surprise! LOL)
Drink of Choice While Reading:
I drink water almost all the time - occasionally you will see me with a venti non-fat, no whip Cinnamon Dolce Latte, but to be honest, I'm not usually reading then.
E-reader or Physical Book?
Both – Don't get me wrong, I love my hard copies, but ebooks are so much easier to lug around LOL
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
This is hard because in my mind, I would have dated ALL the book boyfriends, but if I had to decide, it would probably have been Jase. You know, the guy who is working hard to make it... loves animals *swoon* and is so incredibly sweet. With my luck though, I would have ended up with some d-bag like Kennedy from Easy LOL.
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It's not my typical kind of book, but I'm so glad I took a chance on it. Not only did I find an amazing story, but I found an author who's writing I fell in love with.
Hidden Gem Book:
If I Lie by Corrine Jackson
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
BEA – I have to agree with Erin on this one. It was probably the place where I realized I was really taking this whole book blogging stuff seriously and making a true go of it.
Just Finished:
Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
I'm not a fan of biographies or westerns. Don't ask me to, I most likely won't.
Longest Book You’ve Read:
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 870 pages *WHUT* LOL
Major book hangover because of:
Beyond Pain (Beyond #3) by Kit Rocha... I just can't stop thinking about it!
Number of Bookcases You Own:
3 but admittedly I need a 4th - I have enough books to fill a 4th sitting on the floor lol
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The Sea of Tranquility - one of my absolute favorite reads. It's a beautiful story and so wonderfully told.
Preferred Place To Read:
In the big chair in our living room - it's comfy!
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“Remember
Love doesn't make the world go round
Sex makes it spin for a second or two
If you're lucky
So do chips, sausage rolls and girls in short skirts
Remember
Love
Lays its fingers on your heart
And holds it
Under water
Remember that
When the next girl smiles”― Cath Crowley, Graffiti Moon
"I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up, my friend." - John Green, The Fault In Our Stars
Reading Regret:
Not making it a bigger part of my child's younger years. When he was little I wasn't reading as much myself and I was working two jobs and going to school, so reading took a backseat and I wish I would have stressed it's importance when he was smaller. He's getting it now, but we missed those early years and that makes me a bit sad.
Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series):
Across the Universe by Beth Revis. I read book 1 a little while ago, but never picked up the next. I definitely want to read them, but ... so many books, so little time! I think that's the only one, I'm guess I'm pretty good about reading a full series if I've started it!
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson & The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Kasie West. I mean she can do no wrong in my world. I absolutely adore her writing and the stories she tells.
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth
Worst Bookish Habit:
I just am not sure that I have any bad book habits. I mean, is buying them even though you don't need them a bad habit? I don't write in books, I don't bend pages, I keep the spine fairly unbent... I love pretty books so I try to keep them that way! LOL
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
I used my Signed Copies bookshelf for this one - It just happened to be my Signed ARC of Crown of Midnight... or as I call it, a most prized possession.
Your latest book purchase:
The Mistress. I needed to own the final book in this series.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
All the books? Because basically I stay up way too late every night, but if I had to pick Erased by Jennifer Rush. I got the ARC and had to know what was going to happen!!
