“Hey bro, sorry I missed your call”Shannon said with a surprised smile on his face as he let Maurice in. He wondered if he saw Monica leave here. “How you been? How are things?”he asked him
Maurice
“Good, working on the album”Maurice said as they sat down. Shannon asked if he wanted to go out on the court but he figured he had enough basketball for today.
“Ive seen you in the news lately”Shannon said as he wiggled his eyebrows
“Im always in the news”Maurice said
“You know, about you and Breana”Shannon said
Maurice just shook his head, well since he brought it up. “Yeah the restraining order is dropped. Things..um…seem almost normal”
“You talked to her or is there a way to go about these things?”
“There was probably a better way to go about it”Maurice said and told Shannon a summary of what happened. “Naureen was there. All the girls were there, just to make sure it didnt end up in disaster, though it did. Have you talked to Reen lately? How is she?”
“Its been awhile…”he said as he fidgeted
“You all arent together?”
“Why you ask?”
“Well…look…I just saw Monica leave here and….ya’ll were kissing and hugging up on each other so….”
“Shit”Shannon said
“Please tell me you didnt get yourself into a mess, bro”
“I think I did”Shannon said as he stood up and paced. “Naureen is great but shes following Breana everywhere. I can never see her. I mean, shes going to Austria tomorrow or something for 2 weeks-“
“Thats not an excuse-“
“Im not saying excuses, Im just saying how it is. Naureen is sweet. I love her to death. We had a connection when we met. A puppy love, young love type of connection. Then we had our differences and then we came back together. I was pretty sure after that happened that it was meant to be. But I can count on my hand how many times I had alone time with her last year. Shes busy making her money and I respect that but…..then you introduced me to Monica….”
“Dont blame this on me!”Maurice said,”I took you out to meet all these people cuz they are friends of mine-“
“It wasnt like that at first but…we had a connection when we first met. It was deeper than what Naureen and I had. I tried to ignore it out of respect for her but…damn….Im in love with her man. Its deeper and passionate and…shes like my best friend. I can talk to her about anything. I told her things that I was never ready to discuss with Naureen. I told her about my father and Clinton…she even got me in contact with my father again and we talk on a regular basis now. And its all because of her. I feel…at peace now. I feel happy and not just going through the motions. I dont know where I would be without Moni to be honest”Shannon said honestly and when he called her ‘Moni’, he reminded him of how Breana and Naureen talked about Breana’s mother. “She has two sons who I am completely in love with. It got deep really quick”
“But Naureen doesnt know”
“Its not something I can say over the phone. I cant Skype her about it and…I dont wanna break her heart”
“Look, you’re just gonna have to accept that you will. I know these Taylor women man, they love hard. But I promise you if Naureen finds out from someone else or on her own somehow. Theres gonna be hell to pay. Dont make the same mistakes I did. If you cant see her before she leaves, you have to sit her down and be honest when she gets back”Maurice said. He wished his own advice was as easy for his situation. “My biggest regrets in life is breaking Breana’s heart, her finding out the way that she did and how I handled things. I will regret those things until the day I die, long after. I dont want that for you”he said and Shannon nodded. “Does Monica know about Naureen?”
“No…or she knows of her but thinks shes just a friend”Shannon said
“So you’re afraid of losing them both?”Maurice asked and Shannon nodded. “Look, you wont get out of this Scott free. But if you’re honest, I promise you that you will get out cleaner than I did. Monica is cool, she is strong, she is wise beyond her years and I love her to death and Naureen is like a mini Bree. Just think long and hard about who you…have to choose in the end”
“I dont wanna break Naureen’s heart but the love I feel for Monica is deeper than I even understand…am I making sense?”
Maurice nodded,”Totally. Been there. I cant even wrap my head around my feelings”he said, thinking about Breana. “Look, I’ll be in LA for awhile so if you need me, Im close by”he said. He knew that Shannon couldnt give Naureen any messages concerning Breana right now. They had to sit down and talk about their relationship.
“Im a horrible person”
“You’re not. My therapist tells me all the time, you made a mistake but it doesnt make you a bad person, it makes you human”
They sat around and talked some more until Kae started calling Maurice every other minute again. He forgot all about her and hoped that she got over whatever was upsetting her but obviously not. He couldnt avoid her any longer. He dapped Shannon up and told him to do the right thing and Shannon thanked him and he left out. Maurice smoked a little herb to calm himself as he drove to his place and when he walked in, he saw Kae and a few of the housekeepers cleaning up. When she saw him, she pounced like an anxious kitten stalking its prey.
Kae
“Where have you been?”Kae practically screamed at him. The housekeepers paused and Maurice sighed.
“Who you talking to like that? Its my house and I can come and go as I please”
“I see”she said with an attitude as she crossed her arms and rolled her neck. “You cant call nobody either. Im out here dealing with a crisis and you cant even call me back to help-“
“Look, Kae, lets talk about this in private like civilized adults. I aint got no strength to fight”he said. Bree wore him out earlier and he was numb to everything else around him. He was all cried out. He walked away from her and headed upstairs and she got pissed that he was walking away from her.
“Dont you walk away from me!”she said as she followed him
“Stop hollering yo, shit. What kinda crisis could you have going on? You were at the spa all day with your girls-“
“Yes! I was SUPPOSED TO HAVE A NICE RELAXING SPA DAY WITH MY GIRLS BUT YOU COMPLETELY RUINED IT!”she said as she followed him into the master bedroom and slammed the door behind her.
WHAT the fuck was going on with all these slamming doors today!?
“YO! WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST SAY ABOUT HOLLERING AND SHIT!?”he yelled back at her and she quieted down quickly. There were very few occasions when he yelled at her like that and she wanted to keep those at a minimum, thats how he and Pisces broke up right? “How did I ruin it when I was across town?”
“Oh lets see, the card you gave me to use declined and I was completely embarrassed when we had to leave the spa since none of us could afford it. The credit card company wanted to speak to you and you only….unless I have your one password but I dont have that!”
Maurice paused,”How do you know about that?”he asked her. Yes he used one password for everything. It was easier for him to remember and he didnt give it out to just anybody. Only Mama J and his managers and Mijo knew what that one password was and none of them were authorized to give them out or tell how many he had.
“Oh! How do I know about that? Because I ran into Pisces stuck up ass at the same fucking spa and do you know what she said to me? She completely humilated me! She and her girls were laughing and giggling and were obviously very jealous that I am with you and they arent. I tried to set them straight and Pisces threw her champagne in my face and not only that-“
“Wait what?”Maurice asked. Kae saw Breana in the same spa and they fought with champagne?? That didnt sound like Bree to just up and throw champagne in someone’s face unless they pushed her too far. That sounded like a Lee sort of move. “What did you say?”
“What did I say!? I set her straight! Thats what I said but her crazy ass didnt want to admit it. And that bougie bitch also had the nerve to tell me that you only had one password and she still knows it or knew it and she had the audacity to say that she saw you today! So what the fuck is going on Reece? We just talked about this. Are you playing me or not because if you are, you can kiss me goodbye. I am better than this. I dont have to deal with it”
Maurice stared at her angrily as she went off at the mouth at how much of a bitch Pisces and her crew of girls were and how he betrayed her. He was confused because something wasnt right. Something was off. Maybe because he was hearing just her side of the story. She was also still yelling and he couldnt deal with anyone when they did. He was still working on his anger issues but he has yet to know how to control someone else’s rage. He was also upset that Breana had the nerve to out them. Why would she do that? How could she be so stupid? Was she trying to hurt him?
“You cant believe what she says”
“Save it Maurice. I dont want to hear your lies no more”
“Im not lying to you!”
“So you didnt meet her today!?”
“No!”
“Then what were you doing!?”
“I was in the studio for the hundredth time. You can ask Mijo-“
“Oh yeah? Hes just gonna lie for you”
“Well you know what Kae, I dont know what to tell you. If Im such a lying, cheating, piece of shit then what the fuck are you still doing here!?”he said through clenched teeth.
She stared at him and then nodded,”You’re right. What am I doing? You being MIA all day and only texting me just to make sure the house is clean lets me know EXACTLY how you feel for me”she said and then stalked into the walk in closet.
“Fine”Maurice said unaffected as he got out his phone and texted Breana.

He was about to text her some more questions but he couldnt take all the noise Kae was making. He could hear metal scratching against metal as she threw hangers off the racks, snatching the clothes off of them and throwing the hangers on the floor as she threw various items of clothing, all of them that he bought for her, out of the closet in a pile. All that noise was like fingernails scratching against a chalkboard and he was getting agitated and cringed at the sound as it got louder and louder and wouldnt end. “Kae, stop!”
“IM LEAVING!”she shouted as she threw some more clothes on the floor
His anger turned into panic. No one was going to leave him again. Not after what happened two years ago, if anyone was leaving it was because it was his choice. Kae couldnt leave him. He wouldnt let her. “You aint leaving nobody”
“WATCH ME!”she shouted as she threw another pile of clothes out of the closet and he stomped over to her
“YOU AINT TAKING THIS SHIT! I BOUGHT ALL THIS FOR YOU!”
“SO ITS MINE AND I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT WITH MY THINGS!”
“STOP!”he shouted at her but she wouldnt listen and he felt himself losing control. He clenched his fists and closed his eyes as he kept repeating himself,”Stop. Just fucking stop. Stop”
Then he had it. He opened his eyes and marched over to Kae and snatched the hanger out of her hand and threw it against the wall and the wood on wood made a loud crack. She finally stopped but it was too late. She didnt like the look in his eyes and she tried to get past him but he grabbed her by her arms and backed her against the wall.
“You arent leaving me”he hissed at her. She didnt say a word and then he kissed her roughly. She struggled out of his grasp but then she gave into him. Soon clothes werent being ripped off the racks and hangers, they were being ripped off of each other and soon Kae was laying down on top of the pile of clothes she was threatening to take as Maurice put on a condom in seconds. She cried out and tears fell down her face at how roughly he inserted himself inside of her but he was beyond angry at her and she felt the same about him. She dug her nails into his back as he went too far, too deep, too rough but she was thankful that he still wanted to make love to her. She bit down on her lip as he pumped hard and fast.
Maurice fucked her hard, as hard as he could. He imagined that she was herself and Breana at the same time. He was angry at both of them. He was angry at Kae for threatening to leave and Breana for hurting him again. She stabbed him in the back when she mentioned going on tour with Drake and she twisted it out of spite when she attacked Kae in the salon and told her they met up. They both were trying to ruin his life and he was gonna make them both pay for hurting him and he was gonna let out his anger in the best and safest way he could.
Unfortunately, only Kae could feel his pain. Breana would never know how he was feeling at this moment and that made him angrier.
He forced himself to cum when Kae’s cries got louder and her nails dug into his back. He knew she couldnt take it and he was being too rough. He released himself and then rolled off of her and laid on the floor next to her. They both stared at the ceiling, taking in what just happened and laid there in silence.
Kae finally broke the silence and said,”Im sorry”
He nodded as they stared at the ceiling. He had the urge to paint it. Red. A dark, blood, red. He didnt know why. “Did I hurt you?”
“Yeah…a little”
A loud beeping went off and Maurice sat up. Shit. He forgot all about…..
He got up and pressed the intercom button. “Hey mama”
Mama J
“Im here, open the gate sweetheart”
“Ma, you know you didnt have to-“
“I have to check on my son. What kind of mother would I be? I also have food” Maurice smiled and pressed the button that opened the gate. Mama J smiled,”I knew you would see it my way”she said and he saw her car pull in.
“Mama’s here. Are you still leaving me because if you are, its gonna be a little awkward”he said to Kae. Now she was sitting on the bed and slowly getting dressed.
“No. Im sorry. I want to meet your mother. I was angry. I overreacted. I want to stay”she said sincerely as she looked at him
“Then stay”he said,”And be on your best behavior. Mom’s sensitive around hostile aura’s”he said as he walked into the bathroom and flushed the condom. He learned that in the mother/son therapy sessions they had together after the incident and he promised her not to put her in any stressful situations ever again. They both dressed quickly and walked downstairs and greeted Mama J as she walked in with grocery bags. Maurice helped her carry them in and set them on the counter. He then gave her a hug and she held him close.
“You scared me there. Are you sure you’re alright?”Mama said to him
“Mama, I want you to meet Kae”Maurice interrupted her. Kae was too busy yelling that he couldnt tell her about the bump on his head. Mama turned around and looked at Kae in surprise. She did a complete 180. She was no longer angry but she was smiling widely and very excited.
Kae couldnt help herself I guess because she hugged Mama J tight and it caught her off guard. “Oh, shes a hugger”Mama said with a laugh
“Yes I am. Sorry. Its so great to finally meet you. Maurice talks about you all the time”Kae said to her
Mama J smiled, who was this girl? Maurice told her all about her but he never told her about her. She looked at Maurice and he just chuckled in embarrassment. “Im sorry and your name again?”
“Im Maurice’s girlfriend. Karrueche”she said and Mama J’s eyes widened. He had a girlfriend?
But she recovered quickly. “Oh! So this is the girl hes been telling me about? So nice to meet you”she lied and Kae smiled widely.
“I couldnt wait to meet you. I made sure to get the house in order since you were coming over to spend some time with us”
“Thank you, the house looks lovely”Mama said. “I guess Im cooking for three then?”
“I love to eat”Kae said
“She does”Maurice said. He was glad that Kae was behaving but this was way too much.
“I do know my way around the kitchen though”Kae said,”All the appliances here are the ones I picked out”she said as she opened a cabinet and started pulling out pots and pans.
“Oh thats nice dear”Mama J said. “Oh, silly me, I forgot the ice cream and cake in the car. Its still unlocked”she said to Maurice and he nodded
“I can go get it”Kae said cheerfully and opened the door and walked out
Mama stared at Maurice and he cringed in embarrassment. “Shes very chipper. And why am I the last one to know that you have a girlfriend?”
“Ma, its new. We didnt really make it official until a couple months ago-“
“But when I asked who she was when I saw you two on that tabloid you said she was just a friend-“
“She was a friend then Ma. Things change”he said. Mama J just shook her head and threw her hands in the air as if she was saying, whatever Im out of it.
“Have you eaten? When Trey called me I hauled ass out of that meeting and drove straight here. Pardon my English, Lord”
“You didnt have to Ma. Trey took care of it. He fed me, its just a bump on the head”
“What did he feed you?”
“Ribs”
“Ribs? He was trying to give you a heart attack as well?”Mama said with a shake of her head as she took the food out of the grocery bags. “You are going to eat healthy. Extra vegetables for you”she said as she pulled out carrots, broccoli and cabbage.
“Can you please put some melted cheese on that broccoli?”Maurice asked. “Since you arent making my favorite spaghetti”
“Let me see that bump on your head”Mama said as Kae walked back in with the cake and ice cream and put them in the freezer. “You got a first aid kit?”she asked him
“Yeah, I’ll go get it”Kae said and went upstairs
“Shes comfortable. She knows her way around here”Mama commented.
“Shes got the keys. Shes here a lot”Maurice said and Mama looked at him and then shook her head
“Thats a mean bump you got right here. I cant believe you fainted”
“I didnt faint. Girls faint. I blacked out”
“Well we cant have you blacking out again. You havent had an episode like that in a year or so. Where was Pat?”
“I gave him the day off, like I said, I was dehydrated. Please lets talk about something else”he said and Mama nodded and let it go as Kae brought in the first aid kit after she inspected and cleaned his head, she washed her hands and looked at Kae.
“You can boil water cant you, Ker….Ker….?”Mama asked her with a smile
“Its Karrueche Mom”Maurice said. Her name wasnt that hard to pronounce.
“Of course I can”Kae said, brushing it off
“Well come on over then. Karrueche?”Mama asked sweetly and Kae nodded. Maurice mouthed ‘thank you’ to her and she winked as he sipped on some Kool Aid and walked out the kitchen

Trey couldnt help but think about everything that Maurice said earlier that day. Today was a jam packed day full of drama and he realized that Jasmeen would be leaving for Australia in the morning. He had to see her before she left.
‘you girls done with your spa day?’
Jasmeen
‘we decided to spend the night here in the hotel part. bree needed more relaxation’ Jasmeen answered back and he wondered if she knew about Bree and Maurice meeting up
‘can i cum by? ;)’
Jasmeen smirked to herself, ‘you cant its a girls night’
‘you are gonna have two weeks worth of girls nights in australia. i have to see my baby :(’
‘we are all in the same suite’

Jasmeen smirked and shook her head and Breana glanced at her. “Let me guess, Trey?”
“Yeah, he wants to come by and see me before we leave”
“Is he coming?”
“I said he cant. I mean, its girls night”
Lee
“Girl go on”Lee said. “We are all relaxed now”Lee said. After the fiasco with KarateChop, as Lee liked to call her, they went shopping, had dinner and were now relaxing and drinking champagne and smoking a blunt in their suite. “Besides, the staff here cant give us the massage that Trey can give you”
“Which is?”Jasmeen asked
“That good dicked down massage. Where he massages your insides, hits every G spot until you explode over and over again”she said and they all shifted in their lounge chairs to prevent themselves from making a mental image and getting excited. “Shit if my African Boombata was here I’d sneak his ass up and fuck the shit out of him”
African Boombata was what she called Wale. They had a long distance relationship which consisted of a lot of phone sex.
“You sure?”Jasmeen asked them and they assured her it was fine. She texted Trey the address and his horny ass was there in less than 10 minutes. He gave Bree a big hug when he greeted them and gave her another blunt.
“Oh you shouldnt have!”Lee said excitedly
“Heard you were stressed, cant have that”Trey said as he winked at Bree and then followed Jasmeen into her room and they closed the door behind them. Bree stood there, lost in thought, what did he mean by that?
“Fuck him good Jas! He brought us a blunt”Lee said as she took it out of Bree’s hands and lit it. She took two hits and passed it to Naureen. “Oooh and its some loud shit too”she said. “Here Naureen take it”she said as she nudged her.
Naureen
“Im good, I dont need no more”Naureen said softly. She texted Shannon to see if he had some free time to see her. He texted back saying he was busy. Busy doing what? She found herself getting sad. She never saw him. Sometimes they felt more like friends than lovers at times.
She didnt know that Shannon was at Monica’s house, telling her the truth about everything, just like Maurice had advised him to.
Bree took a few hits and passed it to Genn as she stared at the messages that Maurice sent her.
‘how could you do this to me?’
‘is your goal in life to ruin my life?’
‘what the fuck were you thinking?’
His little girlfriend ran back to him and snitched. And who knew what she told him.
Then her phone started to light up and it was him. She hesitated and then walked out on the balcony and answered it,”Yes?”
“Now you wanna answer a nigga?”
“Oh I see, you wanna continue the mature conversation we had before by being more mature”she said sarcastically
“Oh Im immature? After the shit you pulled today, I am the PERFECT GENTLEMAN”
“Dont psych yourself up”
“Fuck you Bree”
“Fuck you harder”she said and he paused. “And no, you cant. You missed that chance again. If Im such a mistake to you, then why are you calling?”
“Cuz you are trying to mess up everything I built-“
“Looks like you’re doing that on your own nigga, pay yo fucking bills!”
“I dont appreciate what you said to Karrueche, you had no right-“
“Who?”
“Her name is Karrueche! Its not that hard to pronounce!”
“And I bet you scream it every night. But not as loud as mine”Breana said. The loud that Trey brought was sure making her sassy and it would be sexy to Maurice if he wasnt still fucked up about what happened earlier and here they were making the same mistakes.
“As a matter of fact, I just finished screaming her name, how about that?”Maurice said. He was lying but he wanted to twist the knife in Breana’s back for once. The silence on the other line let him know that it hit her hard but it didnt give him the satisfaction that he wanted. Deep down, he loved her too much to truly hurt her out of spite or to hurt her at all. He sighed,”Look, Bree I-“
“Dont call me again. You’re right, this was all a mistake. Just stay the fuck away from me”she said and hung up on him. He didnt take that well and he called her back. “What?”she shouted and he hung up. She called him back and hung up.
And here we go, it was 2008 again but they were reliving the bad parts, though there were very few then. They hated each other with a passion at that very moment but neither of them wanted the other to leave and they both didnt want to be the first to give up.
But as usual, Bree did. What were they doing? Had they not learned anything? She ripped the back of her phone off and tore the battery out and squeezed the pieces tightly in her hands as she closed her eyes as tears stung them and tried to fall but she wouldnt let them. She was done crying. She stood there and just tried to breathe. She relished in the silence but then found herself missing him all over again. She stared at the pieces of her phone in her hands and sighed,”Whats wrong with me? Why do I feel like this?”she said to herself
She looked out at the LA skyline and took a deep breath as she stuffed the pieces of her phone back in her pocket. Its best that she keep her phone off. The only people she needed to talk to were just a few feet away from her. She wiped her eyes, took a deep breath and walked back in likeMaurice didnt just break her heart again. “Do we have any Patron in this motherfucker, I need something strong”she said as she walked back inside.
