Greeting from space! Here’s what has been happening around the shop this week and upcoming classes and events.

The Bristol Ivy Collection for Kelbourne Woolens has landed! Check out all of the beautiful garments made with Cumbria and Cumbria Fingering through mid-February!

The Take Heart trunk show is in space until mid-February. Be sure to check out these simply beautiful items and pick up the brand new book.

Sivia Harding is coming to space is April and will be offering a variety of fabulous workshops! Beaded Button Bracelets and Short Row Stripes workshops are scheduled for April 8th and the Lace and Beads Workshop is on April 9th. Spaces are filling quickly, so be sure to sign up soon.

Ann Weaver will be offering a workshop on Sunday, April 3rd for her fabulously fun Albers Cowl workshop. This cowl is a great chance to use up scraps and play with color! This workshop is always a favorite!

Olga Buraya-Kefelian will be offering the Swiss Cross Fair Isle Cowl workshop beginning on April 21st. This is a chunky version of her Jujika Cowl in Capsule that is a great introduction to the Fair Isle technique.

Susan B. Anderson is indeed coming to space in May! She will be offering the Build a Toy workshop on May 19th, Exploring Shawl Shapes workshop and Top-Down Seamless Dolls workshop on May 20th, and the Design You Own Fair Isle Mitts workshop and Egg to Owl workshop on May 21st. Registration will open on Tuesday, February 23rd and slots are expected to fill extremely quickly.

Classes

Treat yourself to a new skill this winter with our Introduction to Knitting or Introduction to Crochet classes!

Learn the basics of lace knitting and reading lace charts while creating a timeless baby blanket. The Introduction to Lace – Lace Blanket course on February 24th will get you all the skills required. $50.

Move beyond scarves and other flat projects with the Beanie Hat class on February 25th. This is a great second class option that will get you well on your way to your first hat. $50.

Have you seen the Baa-ble hat all over Ravelry but not quite sure how to tackle Fair Isle? The Multi-color Fair Isle Sheep Hat class beginning on February 25th will teach you everything you need to know to make this ridiculously cute accessory. $50.

Intarsia doesn’t have to be intimidating. Learn this technique while creating an adorable fox hat! The Intarsia Fox Hat class is on February 28th. $40.

Ravelry is one of the most useful tools for stitchers but can be a bit overwhelming at first. Learn the basics of finding patterns and navigating the forums in the handy Ravelry 101 class on February 28th. $40.

Learn the basics of top down raglan sweater construction through knitting a lacy cardigan. This cute sweater can be easily dressed up or down depending on the occasion and will fit nicely into any wardrobe. And the skills obtained during class will be applicable to an entire range of future projects. The Lace Yoke Top Down Cardigan class begins on February 29th. $80.

Elizabeth Zimmerman’s classic Baby Surprise Jacket is a tried and true pattern that is a must knit for any knitter. Learn how this timeless baby sweater is constructed in the Baby Surprise Jacket class starting on March 1. Despite its unique construction, this is a great first sweater project. $80.

Learn how to cable and read cable charts while creating a cute cabled hat. This unisex hat looks great on everyone and can be made in a fitted or slouch style! The Cabled Hat class begins on March 1st. $65.

Experiment with color while creating your very own pair of fingerless mitts. The Fair Isle Fingerless Mitts class beginning on Wednesday March 2 will teach you the basics of Fair Isle, knitting in the round and mitt construction. $80.

If you’re ready to expand your crochet skill set, check out the Lace Wrap in Crochet class beginning on Wednesday, March 2. This class will teach you how to do lace crochet and read lace crochet charts, all while creating a beautiful wrap. $80.
