We have another fantastic new addition to the fibre family: Sincere Sheep from Napa Valley. Sincere Sheep focuses on hand-dyed, using only natural dyes, yarns and fibers.  Sincere Sheep began simply wanting to give a truly farm-to-stitcher experience by using only wool from U.S. farms.  When she first started, each yarn was labeled with the name of the sheep it was spun from.  Now with a wider range of yarns, Sincere Sheep still sources wool directly from specific breeds and farms which is then spun in mills around the country.  Using natural dyes, she specializes in beautiful, soft colors that would be perfect in anyone’s wardrobe!

We are delighted to have brought you two of Sincere Sheep’s US sourced yarns: Cormo Sport and Silken Fingering.  These are both BRAND NEW bases! (They aren’t even in the Ravelry database yet!)

Cormo Sport is a yummy sport weight yarn which features naturally dyed wool from Cormo sheep raised on 9 Mile Ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming and then spun in Buffalo, Wyoming.  Bred from a cross between superfine Merino and Corriedale sheep, Cormo sheep have a super soft fleece with a long staple.  Worsted spun, Cormo Sport has 400 yards in each springy and soft skein and we can’t be more excited to knit with it! Each skein is $32.

Silken Fingering, a 70% wool and 30% cultivated silk blend, is spun in Buffalo, Wyoming with the same great springy twist of Cormo Sport.  With 500 yards in each skein, Silken Fingering has added drape and a slight sheen that makes it perfect for accessories as well as for sweaters. Each skein is $32.

Join our shop owner in her quest to make Red Rock Canyon.  This pattern is written for sport but would be equally beautiful in both Cormo Sport and Silken fingering.  Just two skeins is enough for this beautiful shawl. And be sure to check out Danielle’s tips for this project on the blog each week!
