STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — NWAN reported this week that its RV Warranty Forever program, which was launched this past October, is already making a big impact at RV stores carrying the protection. The company issued a press release this week containing remarks from some of the first RV dealers to carry the product.
"Purely from a sales standpoint, our decision to sign on with RV Warranty Forever has been a home run," said Darrin Abel, general manager at RV General Store in Oklahoma. He noted a 34% year-over-year increase in unit sales since the company signed up to carry the product. Sales dollar volume has also increased 42%, according to Abel, while the operation has posted a net profit increase of 47%.
“In the short time we have been on the RV Warranty Forever program, we have seen a 15% increase in sales solely related to the RV Warranty Forever program," stated Steve Guidry, president of Dixie RV, which serves the Louisiana and Florida markets. "This is not counting the natural impact of the RV industry starting to soar. Needless to say, we are having a tremendous year.”
Steve Deffenbaugh, managing partner for Clem’s Trailer Sales, which has stores serving the Pennsylvania and Virginia markets, said business is on pace for another record year despite the harsh winter. In April, the business delivered a record 188 units. "It has also made a big impact at our new Virginia location and has allowed us to enter the market with the larger I95 dealers and become not only competitive on towable sales, but people have told us they bought from us specifically because we offered the RV Warranty Forever," Deffenbaugh noted.
Christy Kirk, general sales manager of Modern Trailer Sales Inc. in Indiana, said the RV Warranty Forever program has been a great fit for the dealership. "It has allowed us to set our dealership apart in a market where we are competing so closely with other dealers,” she said. “We feel that it is another positive perk that our sales team and dealership can offer our customers.
"Going into our first show season with the RV Warranty Forever, we noticed approximately a 20% increase," Kirk added. "We anticipate that number to continue to grow as customers become more aware of the program."
Steve Plemmons, president of Bill Plemmons RV World in North Carolina, said customers are coming to the dealership because of the RV Warranty Forever product. "Recently, we had a customer drive to North Carolina from New Jersey to look at a $60,000 Winnebago Destination towable solely because of RV Warranty Forever,” he said.
“Our average sale price this year is up from the mid $30s to the mid $50s,” Pemmons added. “We are selling more fifth wheels. I believe that's to the credit of the RV Warranty Forever program."
David Neuenschwander, vice president of NWAN, said: "We are excited to see the impact the program is having on our dealer partners that are on the program. Their commitment to being the best in the industry is inspiring. We spent the last few months installing and working with our dealers to ensure the in-store training was complete before adding additional dealers to the program. We have a few territories remaining and are looking for a few good partners to fill those areas. One thing is for sure, there are some world-class dealers out there and we are proud to be a part of their success."
