On Wednesday, September 2nd, police officers raided the branch of Fatih College, a reputable institution with high quality education established by the followers of Hizmet movement. Police officers were accompanied with many officials from state agencies. The raids are linked with AKP’s government persecution of Hizmet movement since December 2013. Since that period hundreds of schools linked with Hizmet movement have been continuously monitored, raided, searched and even attempted to be closed. While Turkish government spends considerable amount of resources on persecution of Hizmet-inspired schools, thousands of Turkish public schools are being neglected and do not even provide basic sanitary conditions for students.
