July 22, 2013

This is the story of what Ric Elias learned while his plane was crashing, but I think we can all learn something from his story. We have to make the most of life, we have to have the courage to do the things we want to do, we need to realise what’s most important to us in life and then cherish it. Have an inspired week! Motivation Monday: Vision of Life

July 1, 2013

This is a short, but powerful message from Steve Jobs. We all have the ability to change the world, make a difference, have a positive impact. Never forget that. There is a quote I love, which sums this up well… I have seen it credited to many people, but whoever originally said really makes a good point – if a tiny mosquito can have such a big impact then we can too (in a positive way though!). I hope this inspires you to have an amazing week and to give it all you’ve got, because you can make a difference. Carrie x

Motivation Monday: The drive to succeed (the story of Rocky)

June 24, 2013

This is a great little speech of Tony Robbins sharing the story of Sylvester Stallone. I personally LOVE to hear other people’s stories – how they made it, what it took, what they went though in order to reach their goals and the story of Sylvester Stallone is one that inspired me. It’s one of those stories that reinforces that you can make it happen, that no matter how tough it gets to not lose hope, to keep going. I think that feeling of possibility is so powerful, it gives you that extra oomph to keep walking down the path to your dreams.   I hope this story inspires you. Carrie x

Know that whatever you want to achieve is done – it’s already happened.  This is a powerful (albeit repetitive) message from Abraham Hicks. It’s done, it’s done, it’s done: tell yourself every single day. Have a wonderful week! Carrie x

If you feel like your limitations hold you back, watch the video above. Caroline Casey tells the story of her extraordinary life, she talks about how she moved beyond her limitations, so that she could do the things she really wanted to do. She says, “it’s extraordinary how far belief can take you.” It’s such an inspiring video. Take a moment to think about any limitations you have and challenge them. Challenge your perceptions, challenge you beliefs. Carrie x

Motivation Monday: Change Your Perception, Change Your Life

by Carrie

May 13, 2013

In 2005, author David Foster Wallace was asked to give the commencement address to the 2005 graduating class of Kenyon College. However, the resulting speech didn’t become widely known until 3 years later, after his tragic death. It is, without a doubt one of the best videos I’ve watched this year – watch it and then think, ‘next time I’m in a situation I don’t like, how will I choose to see it? How will I choose to respond?” Charles Swindoll once said, “Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it.” It’s true, isn’t it? We live our lives reacting to the situations we find ourselves faced with – the way we react depends on our attitude, our state of mind, our perception of the situation. Carrie x

April 29, 2013

It’s easy to think that greatness is only possible for a select few people – the superstars, the prodigies and the rest of us just watch them, thinking that it’s not possible for us to be great too. But we can. We all have so much greatness inside of us and this video is a simple, but brilliant reminder. Never forget how special, unique and great you are – it’s your gift, so don’t be afraid to share it. Carrie x

April 22, 2013

Fear of failure is one of the biggest reasons why most people never reach their goals. But you know what, it’s OK to fail! In fact, if you’re failing at something then you’re a lot further ahead than most people who aren’t even trying, so give yourself a pat on the back. The greatest people in the world have failed. They used their failures as stepping stones to get closer to achieving their goals. Release all your fears and embrace failure! Carrie x

Motivation Monday: Maybe it’s my fault

“I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.” {Michael Jordan} Sometimes we see successful people and we think it was easy for them, because we don’t see the hard work and the effort they put in to reaching their goal. This video is a good reminder that all successes required some kind of hard work and effort to make it happen, so if you’re in the middle of your hard work or struggle right now, remember that it’s all part of the journey and if you keep going you will get there in the end. Motivation Monday: What Successful People Do

by Carrie

Comment
February 17, 2013

This is a must watch video that will leave you feeling like you can do it! I loved watching it and I think you will too. Here are some key messages: Where focus goes, energy flows: focus on what you want, not on what you don’t want. You can be anything if you just decided: who do you want to be? What kind of life do you want to live. You choose. Don’t stop believing. If people laugh at your ideas, work harder than ever to succeed and then see who’s laughing! Don’t quit on yourself – the ones that make it are the ones who keep going, not matter how hard it gets. Do what you love. Running a business is not easy – it’s a full time commitment. Every day you waste is a day you’ll never be able to get back. Start right now. You can do it!...

Motivation Monday: I Am Going To Make It

February 10, 2013

This is a brilliant video to kickstart your week off with. Les Brown’s words are so powerful. Lessons to take away from this video: No matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets you’ve got to believe and tell yourself that you’re going to make it. You must have patience and engage in consistent action – not everything happens when you want it to happen. It’s not going to be easy, but it will be worth it. A question to ask yourself: “what is it that will ignite the courage in you to get up again and again and again?” We have the power within ourselves to be great, we just have to work on doing the things we need to do in order to be great – we need to work on having the right mindset, the right attitude, we need to work on creating the right...

Motivation Monday: The Most Motivating 8 Minutes

I love watching movies that make me feel inspired – they make me feel like I have the strength within me to do anything. I think this is a powerful feeling, which is why I love this video – it’s a collection of short clips of inspirational scenes from great movies. Here are some of the lessons to take away: Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something. If you want something, go and get it. Your playing small does not help the world – we were all meant to shine. Don’t quit until you’ve got nothing left to give. Give it your very best. Keep driving forward. When you feel like you’ve got nothing left, negotiate with your mind. Dig deep and find the strength to go on. Carrie x

Motivation Monday: The Key to Success

by Carrie

January 27, 2013

In this video Jim Rohn shares something powerful that his mentor once told him, “It’s not what happens that determines the major part of your future. The key is what you do about it.” Stop for a minute and think about how you’ve been responding to situations lately – if something goes wrong in your business or if someone tells you that they don’t like your idea, how do you respond? Do you let it stop you, let it throw you off track? Or do you choose to respond with courage and confidence, because you know that somehow you’ll find a way to make everything happen? Those two responses lead to two very different outcomes. Which response will you choose? I love that we have the power to decide how we respond to the situations we’re faced with – we need to make sure we use our power well,...

Motivation Monday: Be a Risk Taker

by Carrie

Comment
January 21, 2013

This is a powerful message from Les Brown, “make your move before you’re ready.” How many times have you stopped yourself from going for it because you didn’t think you were ready? I know I have done this a lot! So many people want to make sure everything’s perfect before they get started or want to wait until they have more experience or feel like they’re an expert. In truth, I think they’re just excuses, because we’re scared to take the risk and go for it, but what are those excuses costing us? How much are we missing out on because we’re too scared? Have a watch of the video clip above and get motivated and ready to raise your bar and go for it! Carrie x

Motivation Monday: The Power of our Beliefs

by Carrie

Comment
January 14, 2013

I LOVE the story I’m sharing with you this week for Motivation Monday! I heard this story for the first time last year and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. It just goes to show how powerful our beliefs are. When we have complete conviction that we can do it, we will do it, but when we doubt ourselves we hold ourselves back. So have a think about what you really want to achieve this year and then ask yourself, “do I believe 100% that I can make this happen?” Do you? If you don’t, why don’t you? What’s stopping you from believing with absolutely conviction that you can make it happen? Henry Ford was right when he said: “Whether you think you can or you can’t you are usually right.” So if you don’t believe you can you need to start changing your beliefs. You can start to do...

Have you ever felt like you’re not good enough? Have you ever felt like it’s hopeless? That what you want is impossible? I think we’ve probably all felt like this at times. It’s in moments when we feel like this that we need to shift our perspective. We need to see things differently. A video that always helps me to change my perspective is the one above. I’ve seen this video so many times and each time I watch it I feel my perspective change. I love it and the messages in it are so powerful – it just goes to show what’s possible when you have the right mindset. Never forget that in life your attitude determines your altitude. Carrie x
