Planet Comicon Kansas City, Kansas City’s largest pop culture and comic book convention, will take place this Friday through Sunday, May 20-22, 2016, at Bartle Hall. Adult tickets run from $22 to $32 for a one-day pass (depending on which day) if you buy them in advance. They’ll cost you $35-$45 at the door. A 3-day pass is $57 ($75 at the door). Youth tickets (ages 11-14) are $22 for a 3-day pass; $30 at the door. Kids 10 and under get in free (limit of two per adult paid admission). Even though the door prices include taxes and fees and the online prices don’t (and there’s an extra $2 per ticket fee for advance ticket purchases), you’ll still save money by buying in advance.
Planet Comicon Kansas City is also offering ticket discounts to active military personnel, teachers, and librarians. Those tickets are $18.70-$27.20 for a one day ticket and $48.25 for a 3-day ticket. Those tickets must be purchased in advance and an appropriate ID is required at the door.
The show features celebrity guests from film and television and creators of comic books, animation, novels, video games, and other media. There will also be panel discussions, performances, Q&A sessions, special attractions, a costume contest, gaming, and all kinds of vendors with comics, magazines, clothes, posters, toys, and other collectibles.
Hours are from noon to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
