The D6 is a national conference held each year in Dallas and Lewisville. The conference brings together some of the nation’s most influential leaders to share about Generational Discipleship. Though the conference is full of great information for anyone interested in passing the faith on to the next generation (most importantly, PARENTS), it can be difficult for the average person to attend. The conference is held on a weekday, and it can cost as much as $199 per person to attend. The schedule and cost puts this great conference out of reach for most of us.

But our church is offering you a great opportunity. This fall, you will be able to watch some of the past speakers at past D6 Conferences on Wednesday nights at FBC Benbrook absolutely free. Beginning September 11, while your children are attending AWANA or Motion (for youth), we invite you to join us in the Sanctuary from 6:30 to 7:15 to watch a video presentation from the D6 Conference.

You can learn more about the D6 Conference below and see the scheduled speakers as well. Please feel free to invite a friend! You can attend all of the conferences, or just a select few.

 What Is D6 Conference?

The D6 Conference is about Generational Discipleship. When you take a look at Scripture, it’s impossible to separate discipleship from Family Ministry. As commanded in Deuteronomy 6 (D6), it is God’s “plan A” that the family becomes the center of spiritual formation (a.k.a. discipleship). The D6 Conference helps churches develop and sustain an integrated discipleship strategy that combines the relationship and influence of the church and the home.

The D6 Conference is for anyone involved in Family Ministry. It is a place where church leaders, parents, and resource providers come together to focus on our families as the primary vehicle through which we impart our faith to the next generation. The conference derives its mission from God’s command to love Him, love His word, and impart that love to our children.

Why is the D6 Conference important? You might be asking, “This seems like such a commonsense biblical strategy, why the need for a conference?” Over the last several decades church discipleship programs have reached an all-time high in standards of excellence in programming. We have seen more kids and students come through church doors than we could have ever imagined. But what are the results? Conservative studies show that anywhere from 45 – 75% of the students in our youth groups are not attending church within 5 years after high school graduation, and many of them will never return. D6 is a Bible-based discipleship strategy leveraging the very best of church and home to help develop life-long Christ followers who disciple others in their communities and around the world.

At the D6 Conference, you will hear from pioneers and practitioners in this movement. At D6, we gather together many of the leading researchers in the country. We also assemble a large group of local church leaders who lead with a family ministry discipleship strategy rooted in Deuteronomy 6:4-9. These practitioners relay strategies that work not just in theory but in practice. Finally, we also bring together many of the leading family ministry experts to speak to specific needs currently being found in the lives of our families. People like you find real solutions for helping the church partner with parents to transfer faith and values.
