Eat, drink and be scary during Las Vegas’ Third Annual Howl-O-Week

Las Vegas is the ultimate destination for a monstrous good time this Halloween. As the paranormal takes over, visitors can expect everything except the ordinary throughout October, culminating with the annual Las Vegas Howl-O-Week Experience Oct. 25-Nov. 3. The always anticipated Howl-O-Week festivities consist of 10 days filled with haunted ghost tours, parades, parties, costume contests and more. In addition to the Halloween festivities mentioned in a previous posting, the following events are sure to make your visit to Las Vegas that more special and spook-a-licious.



GHOULS, GHOSTS AND GOBLINS…OH MY!

Fright Dome returns to The Adventuredome at Circus Circus Las Vegas. For more than a decade, Fright Dome has been one of the nation’s top-ranked Halloween attractions. Created by “hauntrepreneur” Jason Egan, Fright Dome is 250,000 “scare” feet with six new haunted houses, four scare zones, 25 rides and attractions, nightly live shows and much more. Fright Dome commenced October 3rd and will continue throughout the month from 7 p.m.-midnight.



The Haunted Ghost Tours at Bonnie Springs Ranch gives ghost enthusiasts an authentic paranormal investigation experience. Participants have the opportunity to receive hands-on training with the same equipment featured in popular reality television shows and use it during a live investigation at Bonnie Springs. Bonnie Springs is located near Red Rock Canyon and was featured on Travel Channel’s popular show “Ghost Adventures.” Investigations happen the last Saturday of every month with an early adventure 7-10 p.m. and a late-night opportunity 10:30 p.m.-midnight. Returning to Bonnie Springs Ranch October 10-31 is Bonnie Screams Wicked West Haunted Ghost Town. The event is complete with haunted houses, urban legends, film fests and more.

Other bone-chilling experiences that will leave visitors sleeping with the lights on include Freakling Bros. Horror Shows, “Trilogy of Terror.” Trilogy of Terror features “Gates of Hell,” the only R-rated haunted house in the state of Nevada, and “Circus of Horrors” and “Castle Vampire.”

THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT

For those not afraid of the dark, check out Las Vegas’ unique nightlife parties. From super heroes to villains, Tryst at Wynn Las Vegas celebrates comic characters, good and bad, with Hero-Ween, October 24-31. Also at Wynn is XS Nightclub, which will take on the exceptionally chilling theme, XS Apocalypse. This unique celebration, happening October 25-31, will feature famed entertainers Afrojack, Steve Angello, Kaskade and more. Hakkasan at MGM Grand will morph into Forbidden City with three sexy costume contests on October 26, 27 and 31. Participants can win up to $60,000 in cash prizes and dance the night away with world-famous DJs, including Hardwell, Dada Life, Calvin Harris and others.

The Halloween spirit will be in full swing at Palms Casino Resort. On Oct. 26, Ghostbar Dayclub will host a “Back 2 the Future” themed party and costume contest. Big-City lounge and upscale rec room, The View, will host a “Thriller” B-Boy Battle on October 29, giving away up to $1,500 in cash prizes for first and second place winners. The party continues at Moon Nightclub on October 29 with the Sexy Costume Contest. First and second place winners will walk away with $10,000. Don’t forget Palms’ industry night, “Work Hard Play Hard,” on October 31 where the newly renovated Ghostbar will welcome the undead for Zombie Prom. First and second place winners will receive a thrilling $10,000 in cold hard cash.

The fun doesn’t end there; revelers can get their spook on at TAO Nightclub in The Venetian Las Vegas during the WIZard of TAO Halloween party, hosted by hip-hop sensation Wiz Khalifa on October 31.

Fifty one floors above the Las Vegas Strip, VooDoo Rooftop Nightclub at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino will host a fang-tastic costume party on October 31. Those with the “scariest,” “most original” and “sexiest” costumes will head home with $2,000 in cash prizes.

Howl at the moon during Coyote Ugly Saloon’s Sexiest Halloween Costume Contest inside New York–New York Hotel & Casino. Participants have the chance to win up to $1,000 in cash and prizes on Oct. 31.

DOUBLE, DOUBLE TOIL AND TROUBLE

The Fremont Street Experience will transform into a mecca of thrills for its Fifth Annual OktoberFrightFest, October 7-31. This ghoulish street party will include Viva Vision light and sound shows themed to “Time Warp” and “Monster Mash,” the Fourth Annual Fall Beer Festival at Golden Nugget Las Vegas , live musical revues and much more.

Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at Luxor Hotel & Casino presents its annual Haunted Ghost Tours. Guests can experience the spooky stories of the R.M.S. Titanic and discover if the exhibition’s mysterious encounters are true. Tours will run nightly 5-9 p.m., October 31- Nov. 2.

Returning to Downtown Las Vegas is the Fourth Annual Las Vegas Halloween Parade. Taking place in the esteemed Arts District, the parade includes costume contests, live music and more. The event begins at 7 p.m. on October 31.
