About a year and a half ago, I quit my job in fashion to work freelance in fashion and blog more. Over that time my blog has got so busy I have taken on less freelance work and taken on more blogging. I thought it would be fun to share my mornings in this post and now I want to share another part of my morning, my beauty rituals. It can be hard being self-employed and motivating yourself every day, when I could easily ignore my emails and spent my day watching E!, but I think my beauty regime kick starts my mind and body every morning.

Bodycare

There is nothing more revitalising than a good shower, especially if it comes with a great shower gel. At the moment, we are using Elemis British Botanicals Shower Cream and it smells like a dream. It is a blend of Lavender, Chamomile with Geranium and Palmarosa, in a rich, hydrating shower cream. It leaves me feeling clean and ready for the day!

Face

As for skin care, I have a lot of products, so I thought I would just show a few of my current favourites which are a bit of a constant in my skin care routine. I am still obsessed with Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist, you spritz over cleansed skin to soften, hydrate and tone. I love the scent of roses, so it’s nice to start the day with a spritz of rose petals over my face.

Eyes

Dermalogica Multi-vitamin Power firm is still the best eye cream I have ever used. It was my boyfriend who first introduced me to it and no matter how much we like other eye creams, we always come back to Dermalogica’s Multi-vitamin Power firm, it is so good. We often take it in turns to buy a new tube and it is always worth it.

Serum

Sisley Paris is quite a new skin care discovery for me, but I love it this Global Firming Serum as it feels like a miracle worker on my skin. It seems to smooth all my fine lines and just give my skin a look of fullness and health. It does everything I want it to, even my skin tone, closes my pores and just generally makes my skin look better. I love it so much I want to try more from the range now!

Moisturiser

I have been using Soap & Glory For Daily Youth over the top to seal in the serum and give a boost of hydration. It’s great value for money and it is a good every day moisturiser.

Face Mask

A couple of times I week I use Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque, which I use as a sleep mask. I just use a thin layer all over my face, almost like a face cream and I add a little extra to my cheeks, as they are the driest part of my face. I get quite dry cheeks, especially in the Winter so it’s important to keep my skin hydrated. I often find face masks a bit of a chore, so this is perfect for me as I treat it almost like a night cream.

Fragrance

Perfume wise, I am using Terry de Gunzburg Fragrant Délice at the moment, which is a beautiful citrusy fresh fig, with a heavy dose of white musk and tonka beans. It’s really stunning, read more about it here! Even if I am working from home alone all day, I tend to wear perfume, just because I enjoy it!

Hair

I try not to wash my hair every day, I usually do it every other day. At the moment I am using Bumble and Bumble seaweed shampoo and condition. Bumble and Bumble is one of my favourite hair care brands. Their Surf range gives me the windswept (in a good way) look and this Seaweed Collection gives me shiny, yet manageable hair. It’s a great daily or every-other-day shampoo!
