No matter how hard I try to plan my day, I never quite know what is going to happen. I might run into a friend and have an impromptu coffee date, I might get lost, the tubes could break or strike (or whatever they do to stop working) or I could just get invited to a last minute meeting or event. I just don’t know! What I do know is that I don’t want high heels and sore feet to hold me back, which is why I have a pretty extensive collection of flat shoes.

One of my best friends once told me that flat shoes are cooler than heels. She said she didn’t want her shoes to be pretty or sexy, she wanted them to be cool and most the coolest shoes are flat. I have to agree, flat shoes are cool; Brogues, monk straps, loafers, flatforms… all flat… all cool!

So with that in mind, I thought I would get out some of my favourite flat shoes for a little show and tell!

Duo Boots

Duo Boots are a recent discovery of mine, this brand are amazing! They make super stylish, yet comfortable shoes. Every time I wear these shoes people compliment me and ask me where they are from, they look great and they are so comfortable they feel like slippers! If you haven’t been on their website yet, go check it out, they are amazing!

Charlotte Olympia

I was desperate for these Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flat shoes. I thought long and hard about them, but eventually I went for it and bought them! I have worn them so much and I love them, they go with everything and I can wear them with everything from casual dresses to smart cocktail dresses.

Russell & Bromley

I went into Russell & Bromley with the intension of buying loafers, but I came out with these Monk Strap shoes instead. No regrets! I love these shoes they are amazing! They are smart, yet cool. I feel like monk strap shoes are the new brogue and these are the perfect pair!

Boden

Remember this Christmas when I barely stopped wearing these Boden Jewelled pumps? I love getting these shoes out for cocktail parties and dinner dates. Jewelled pumps this fabulous are not easy to find, so I cherish mine!

Lucy Choi

Did you know Lucy Choi is the niece of Jimmy Choo? This girl knows a thing or two about shoes and her designs are amazing! I love these velvet slippers so much. The toes are made of gun metal and the insides are cushioned and leather lined. These shoes look and feel like class and they are perfection! If you have never heard of Lucy Choi, it’s time you looked her up!

Orla Kiely X Clarks

Orla Kiely and Clarks have worked together for the past few seasons to create a collection of shoes. I bought one pair from the first season and two pairs from the second season. The next collection will be launched soon, maybe I will get three pairs this time?! Who knows! These flat loafers are both comfortable and adorable, don’t they look like elf shoes?!

Dr Martens

Last year I was invited to visit the Dr Martens factory in Northampton. It was such a treat and somewhere I have always wanted to visit. I may have gone a little nuts in the factory shop and I bought a fair few pairs of shoes, I think these gold and silver shoes have to be my favourite and they were made in the Northampton factory too.

Miista

Miista shoes are designed in Hackney (just around the corner from my flat) and made in Spain. I own three of four pairs of Miista shoes but I think these ones might be my favourites! I have my eye on another pair, which I may need to purchase soon!

Which is your favourite pair?
