After collaborating with Hermès Maison Margiela and Alexander McQueen, Coralie, won the Public award at the International Festival of Fashion in Hyères in April 2014. Her collection for La Redoute is feminine but also structured.

How would you describe your La Redoute collection in five words?

I would describe my collection with the 5 words feminine, elegant, sixties, shapes and pleats.

Which elements of your high fashion work have you brought into your LR collection?

I incorporated the white pleated shorts from my collection I presented them to The International Festival of Fashion and Photography.

Your collections often incorporate feminine details and tactile materials. Why are these elements so important to your sense of style and how have you brought these into your La Redoute collection?

For me in my work the feminine aspect and working on material and textures was very important. I wanted to also use this element in the La Redoute collection playing with different fabrics, with satin and hairy fabrics and also for the textures to have an embroidered top and to just play with the matte and shiny and playing with textures.

What and who inspires your work?

My inspirations are very large; I can be inspired from architecture or flowers or from a woman in the street. For the collection with La Redoute I was inspired by the French woman in the sixties who was really optimistic and positive, full of energy and sometimes a bit rebellious and always elegant.

What are the most important lessons you learnt from working at Hermes, Maison Margiela and Alexander McQueen?

From working at Alexander McQueen, Hermes and Maison Margiela I learned a lot. I would say most of all to push my limits and always try harder and work a lot harder. The more you work the more you discover things about yourself and always look forward.
