Before attending a blogger event last weekend, I met two of my lovely blogger gals Nicole and Segun for a spot of lunch and catch ups. We thought Bibimbap Soho sounded delicious - and I've been dying to try real Korean bibimbap for ages! I even bought a kit for home making, but I needed to see what the original authentic bibimbap was like before attempting to recreate it.
Located in Greek Street this eatery is easy to get to and is perfect for both a big lunch and dinner - and when I say big, I mean it! I ordered the spicy pork bibimbap with a raw egg (it was actually really tasty!) - my meal came out in a hot stone bowl, packed with rice and crunchy delicious vegetables. There was essentially no wait either - the food came out minutes after ordering, and we had our drinks to entertain us for a while anyway.
The way it works in Bibimbap Soho is that you pick your rice (white or brown); then pick your main from a selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes; choose an optional egg (fried or raw - don't be put off as the egg cooks in the hot stone bowl!); and then you pick your bowl from a regular bowl or the hot stone that keeps your food hot for longer.
There was so much flavour in the bowl - I really enjoyed my food and woofed it down pretty quickly (the other girls were being so civilised with their food, and I just demolished mine). I would highly recommend Bibimbap Soho for a quick lunch or dinner - and just to try out a bibimbap for yourself! There are also other things on the menu like noodles, soups, rice dishes and an array of delicious sides.
