Hair twisted and sprayed, heels on and bags in hand, Medina’s select side took to a runway.

The arise was a Medina Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary’s second annual Spring Fashion Show on Friday, that featured 11 women displaying outfits and dresses on a runway set adult in a party room of Root Candle, 623 W. Liberty St., Medina.

“It’s a fun night out for a ladies,” pronounced Lt. Angela Smith, core officer of a Medina Salvation Army. “It’s wardrobe and candles — what could be improved than that?”

Tickets were $25 and enclosed a show, a smorgasboard dinner, basket raffles and doorway prizes. All deduction went to a Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary.

Last year a uncover lifted about $3,500. This year’s deduction have not nonetheless been totaled, pronounced Maria Pabon, one of a eventuality coordinators.

About 150 guest sat on both sides of a runway as models showed off 22 outfits, both infrequent and dusk wear, from a Dress Barn, 1163 N. Court St., Medina.

“It’s really community-minded and we like to consider we’re a area store,” pronounced Sue Volle, district manager of a Dress Barn.

The Dress Barn and Root Candle offering a models and everybody in assemblage discounts on store merchandise.

Evangelene Brown, owners of Salon Evangelene, and several of her employees volunteered to do a models’ hair and makeup.

Several area businesses donated food for a cooking and 30 baskets to raffle off, and a models donated their time.

“I used to do displaying 45 years ago,” pronounced Medina County Commissioner Pat Geissman, one of a models. “I did this final year, too … whatever we can do to assistance a Salvation Army. This is fun.”
