A Cotton Farm Tour through California’s San Joaquin Valley will be held Oct. 29 to gain a behind-the-scenes look at the many sides of cotton production, conducted by the Sustainable Cotton Project.

Meet farmers, see cotton being harvested, and learn about Cleaner Cotton.

The tour begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. at the Best Western Apricot Inn in Firebaugh, Calif. Gather near the lobby. The tour ends around 4:30p.m.

You’ll visit a perennial hedgerow, walk through a colored cotton field, tour a running cotton gin, join us for lunch, and take home samples of cotton fiber.

Throughout the day, leading industry experts and professionals will present an inside perspective about the many facets of cotton cultivation and processing, addressing issues such as water use, cotton farming practices and the current state of the market for Cleaner Cotton fiber.

The tour and lunch are complimentary. There will be water and snacks on the bus.

Please wear close-toed shoes for walking in fields, and bring a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent.
