As a rule, you can divide music into three categories — the kind that aims for the head, the kind that aims for the heart and the kind that aims for the hips. Forging two of those connections at once is pretty impressive, but connecting on all three? That’s a rare accomplishment indeed, one that Lucinda Williams manages on her 11th studio album, “Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone.”
“Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone”, the first release on Lucinda Williams’ own Highway 20 Records label, is easily the most ambitious creation in a body of work that’s long on ambition. Formed in 1984, Diamond Rio features lead singer Marty Roe, guitarist Jimmy Olander, drummer Brian Prout, keyboardist Dan Truman, bassist/harmony Dana Williams and Gene Johnson on mandolin/harmony. Also highly regarded in the gospel genre, the band has sold over 10 million albums and are considered one of country music’s most successful and Grammy winning bands.
When they debuted in 1991 with the hit “Meet in the Middle,” Diamond Rio became the first group in the history of country music to have a debut single reach No. 1. Teams must be preregister online and be able to drive (legally) around town, have a camera to take photos of the objects and be able to use a map. A fundraising event for the homeless cats & dogs of Homeward Animal Shelter. Join us as we Stride for Strays at Lindenwood Park’s Main Shelter on Tuesday, July 28th! 
Registration begins at 6 p.m. and the Walk begins at 7 p.m.
In addition to the Paws Walk itself, the event will include:

Donations for Paws Walk are collected by participants prior to the walk. A minimum $25 donation is required to participate in the Walk. There will be prizes awarded to the top 3 individuals who raise the most and the top 2 teams who raise the most. Individuals who raise at least $75 or more get a FREE Paws Walk t-shirt, teams that raise $150 or more get 2 FREE Paws Walk t-shirts.
