A lot of topsy-turvy. A ton of interesting match ups and a lot of great offenses vs. bad secondaries. Calvin owners should crush this week. Andy Reid returns to Philly which means Dwayne Bowe goes against a bad defense. The Giants are reeling. So are the Bucs. Look for Geno Smith to get better and Manuel to take a step back against a stout defense. A.J. should light up the Packers.

Analysis

Week 3

Proj. Pts

1

Calvin Johnson

Why not. As bad as Stafford has been given the weaponry, it’ll be just like 2012

@WAS

28

2

A.J. Green

Even when the opposition makes it their mission to stop him, he still gets the lion share of targets.

GB

23

3

Dez Bryant

He’s rapidly making the case to elevate to #2.

STL

22

4

Brandon Marshall

Who’s yo daddy? He is an absolute, week-in, week-out beast.

IND

21

5

Randall Cobb

Quickly a high on the radar receiver as there is. The Packer passing attack is en fuego.

@CIN

18.5

6

Demaryius Thomas

Peyton’s favorite weapon.

OAK

18

7

Julio Jones

It appears as though the Falcons will have to go without much of a running game. The O Line has surprised a bit giving Ice time to find his best player.

@MIA

18

8

DeSean Jackson

Boy was I wrong about him. Apparently the Maclin and Benn injuries have really helped his production. Andy Reid’s homecoming. Should be great theater.

KC

17.5

9

Andre Johnson

Seems to have avoided the dreaded concussion tag and should be readyfo action week 3.

@BAL

17

10

Wes Welker

On pace for his usual hundred receptions.

OAK

16.5

11

Larry Fitzgerald

The hammy thing infuses a case of the worries or he’d be much higher.

@NO

16.5

12

Victor Cruz

Eli and the rest of the Giant offense stinks so bad right now. It makes any of their offensive players a hard task to rank.

@CAR

16

13

Pierre Garcon

He and RGIII are becoming a ‘WOW’ combination and the matchup is good.

DET

16

14

Vincent Jackson

Josh Freeman. Yikes.

@NE

15.5

15

Torrey Smith

Until Mr. Superbowl wallet gets it going, Smith will be up and down.

HOU

15

16

Anquan Boldin

The 9er offense owes us one.

IND

14

17

Jordy Nelson

Came back early from the pre-season injury and looks as good as ever. Still a favorite of the league’s best QB.

@CIN

14

18

Mike Wallace.

Getting it going with an improving young QB.

ATL

13

19

Dwayne Bowe

If Alex Smith continues to play like this, the sky is the limit.

@PHI

12

20

Eddie Royal

No way does he keep this up.

@TEN

12

21

DeAndre Hopkins

Emergent rookie quickly becoming a trusted target.

@BAL

12

22

TY Hilton

Enough was apparently enough, and they got him on the field and look what happened.

@SFO

11.5

23

Hakeem Nicks

Not making too many big plays, yet. If El(i) Stinko wakes up, Nicks’ game will take off. For now, he’s high upside WR2.

@CAR

11.5

24

Aaron Dobson

With Amendola apparently gone for a while and Ridley on shaky ground, Mr. Fabulous has to throw it to someone.

TB

11.5

25

Steve Johnson

I’m probably going to regret this ranking as he should be higher based on his start to the season and the recent improved play of EJ Manuel. Rank him higher if you want, but the matchup is tougher this week.

@NYJ

11

26

Marques Colston

Jimmy Graham is the man in New Orleans, but week to week one never knows.

ARI

11

27

Reggie Wayne

He’s looking a lot older lately.

@SFO

11

28

Golden Tate

A very tough matchup last week. It’ll get better here.

JAX

11

29

Antonio Brown

The Steeler offense is bad. Antonio is a good not great receiver in this scheme. The Steelers went 1-5 to finish 2012, they were 0-4 in the pre-season and have started 0-2. It’s been a while since they won, and for the first time in a long time the defense is undisciplined. Not For Long is the M.O. With a class organization that’s used to a high level of excellence.

CHI

10.5

30

Steve Smith

The conservative play-calling, the disaster that is the right side of the O-line has the lone , credible receiver on the team bottled up. Let Cam do his thing, even though it’s risky, and Smith’s game will get back to 2011 levels.

NYG

10.5

31

Chris Givens

The most targeted receiver in that offense.

@DAL

10.5

32

Cecil Shorts III

Whew. Gabbert has the clipboard.

@SEA

10

33

Marlon Brown

Nice alternative when Smith is tripled.

HOU

10

34

Julian Edelman

Has to be the slot dude with Amendola down…AGAIN!

TB

10

35

Greg Jennings

Maybe he and a bad QB can keep it going. Probably not so much.

CLE

9

36

Kenbrell Thompkins

The pre-season bloom is fading. He needs to figure it out fast.

TAM

9

37

Stephen Hill

If he could only hold on to the ball with more consistency, he’d be average. Geno likes throwing to him.

BUF

9

38

Eric Decker

Still suffering from the Welker effect.

OAK

9

39

Tavon Austin

Nice breakout performance. The defenses will catch on sooner than later, especially in that division.

@DAL

9

40

Vincent Brown

With a nasty hit on Malcolm Floyd, Brown is the next logical selection for more targets.

@TEN

9

41

Josh Gordon

Back week one. Weeden probably won’t play, but it’s got to be better than it’s been. He’ll help a lot.

@MIN

9

42

Robert Woods

Nice rookie with a TD in both games, so far.

@NYJ

9

43

Austin Pettis

Schottenheimer is working well with Bradford, and he’s throwing to everybody.

@DAL

8.5

44

Mahomed Sanu

Andy dalton? Sanu has a strong, physical style that translates well against a bump and run division.

GB

8.5

45

Santonio Holmes

Getting healthier, but not ready for prime time.

BUF

8.5

46

Brian hartline

Still hanging in there even with multiple targets from which Tannehill can choose.

ATL

8

47

Cordarrelle Patterson

The back seems like it’s getting better. The Vikes need him now.

CLE

8

48

Jerome Simpson

No way.

CLE

8

49

James jones

This is his week to be off the radar.

@CIN

8

50

Denarius Moore

raider QB just doesn’t have the time to find him.

@DEN

8

51

Doug Baldwin

Back on the radar even if it’s a small blip.

JAX

8

52

Michael Floyd

The line is bad and everyone’s starting to feel it. Nothing like a win to ease the pain.

@NO

8

53

Keenan Allen

Another player that’s going to have to step up.

@TEN

7.5

54

Mike Williams

Josh Freeman. Yikes.
