After John Doe graduated from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He decided to become a tactical air controller. After basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, John went on to the tactical air control party technical training school at Hurlburt Field in Florida. Upon graduating from the TACP technical training course, he attended the Combat Survival Course at Fairchild Air Force Base. Afterwards, John was assigned to a tactical air control party in the 19th Air Support Operations Squadron at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. He was later accepted into the combat controller training program.
