At Isle Delfino, near Delfino Plaza, Mario and Princess Peach were relaxing at the beaches of Isle Delfino. Suddenly, big clouds of purple shadows blocked the sun then missiles, lasers and bullets targeted the island, turning into ruins. Mario and Peach decided to get the residents to a safe place that's not been fired or blocked at yet. Gunships came out and attacked the shortcut to the shelter, so Mario, Peach and the remaining residents splitted up into two groups to the shelter, but the gunships decided to split up as well to cover more ground. However, the gunships blocked the entrance with their ammo and in one of them, it was Bowser. He turned Peach into a trophy, boarded his gunship and grabbed the trophy with the gunship's claw. But Mario had an idea, he would eat a cape feather to turn into Cape Mario. He chased after the gunship, but the other gunships surronded Mario and then fired at Mario and shot him down.

The fuel of the vehicle ran out, thanks to Dixie Kong replacing the tank with another one that's nearly empty. Luckily, Dixie came to help the Kong duo to form the Kong trio.
