A third, [[Michael Brown (1944-)|Michael Brown]], was born in [[1944]], and a daughter, [[Elizabeth Jill Brown (1955-1998)|Elizabeth Jill Brown]], followed on 5 September 1955. At some point he joined the Northern Ireland Housing Trust, which was set up in 1947 to build quality public housing and allocate it on a non-sectarian basis, alongside local councils. He went on to work for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, which took over public housing from the Trust and the councils in 1971, rising to become its Director of Finance.
