Logan "Jack" Brown''' was born on [[October 15|15 October]] [[1913]] at 27 Rochester Street, [[Belfast]], to [[William Blair Brown (1872-1944)|William Blair Brown]] and [[Margaret Logan (1875-1963)|Margaret, née Logan]]. The family later moved to 45 Haddington Gardens.

He married [[Annie Mills (1913-2004)|Annie Mills]] at [[Ravenhill Presbyterian Church]] on [[March 20|20 March]] [[1940]]. Their first son, [[John Logan Brown (1941-)|John Logan "Ian" Brown]], was born on [[January 27|27 January]] [[1941]]. Their second, [[Stephen Brown (1942-)|Stephen Brown]], was born on [[September 13|13 September]] [[1942]]. A third, [[Michael Brown (1944-)|Michael Brown]], was born in [[1944]], and a daughter, [[Elizabeth Jill Brown (1955-1998)|Elizabeth Jill Brown]], followed on 5 September 1955. By 1944 the family was living at 108 Ardenlee Avenue, Belfast. By 1958 they were living at 442 Ravenhill Road, Belfast.

He worked as an accountant. At some point he joined the Northern Ireland Housing Trust, which was set up in 1947 to build quality public housing and allocate it on a non-sectarian basis, alongside local councils. He went on to work for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, which took over public housing from the Trust and the councils in 1971, rising to become its Director of Finance. He was awarded the [[OBE]] in [[1976]].

After Annie died in 2004, he left 442 Ravenhill Road and moved in with his son Ian and his family at 2A Mayfair Avenue. He died in the Ulster Hospital in Dundonald on [[January 9|9 January 2009]], having spent his last few weeks at Towell House nursing home on the Kings Road. His funeral was at Mountpottinger Methodist Church, and he was buried at Dundonald Cemetery.
