Auburn Clubs Carry the Auburn Spirit Across the United States

Auburn University’s alumni fosters the Auburn spirit and lives out the Auburn Creed by staying connected with their nationwide network of 98 Auburn clubs. These clubs come together to share their love for Auburn, serving to better their communities and work with the Alumni Association to raise money for scholarships as well as welcome new students from their areas on their way to Auburn. These activities include game watches, community service, fundraisers, a freshman sendoff and various social events.“Having 98 Auburn clubs across the United States is amazing, and through these clubs hundreds of thousands of alumni can participate in various watch parties, community service activities, meetings and social events,” said Taylor Logan, Auburn Clubs Coordinator.“The one thing that runs through all of the Auburn clubs is giving back and recognizing what the Auburn Creed stands for, keeping the Auburn spirit alive by connecting with other alumni and educating potential students to come to Auburn and graduate from here,” said Logan.Another event that these clubs attend each year is The Tiger Trek tour, a conference holding record crowds each year in nine locations across the United States featuring Gus Malzahn, Aubie and more. In addition, a portion of the proceeds raised from each conference funds Auburn student scholarships from those communities.A primary responsibility of each club is to raise funds toward scholarships for students in their area, and the Huntsville-Madison County Auburn Club has demonstrated great success with their fundraising. With over 10,000 members, the Huntsville-Madison County Auburn Club invited 100 individuals, families or corporate sponsors to each donate $100 over a span of 100 days. 100% of funds raised went to local scholarships for their 2011 graduates, allowing scholarships for many students. In addition to the Huntsville-Madison County Club, the Atlanta Club has a unique way of raising their funds. Each year, they put on an annual fundraising scholarship golf tournament, raising thousands of dollars of scholarship money for students in the Atlanta area, giving them the “hope” scholarship they need to attend Auburn. In addition to fundraising, all Auburn Clubs are required to do a specific amount of community service of their choice in their area. “Something that was really important to the Auburn Clubs this past year was the Young Alumni in Action Program, a week in October where 16 out of the 98 clubs did a service project in their area during that one week,” said Logan. “They also do community service throughout the entire year, participating in food banks, Habitat For Humanity, working with kids, animal rescue shelters and any way they can find to give back in their area.”Whether it be game watching parties, community service or fundraising events, these 98 Auburn Clubs truly cultivate the Auburn spirit, and are living proof that no matter the region, they demonstrate all that the Auburn Creed stands for: believing in Auburn and loving it.See More
