I went to see Adele last night, so excuse all the soppy romance in this chapter <3 :)

Previous Chapters

Two months later.

‘Jen is going to kill me.’ You groan, a small smile spreading to your face thinking about your roommates reaction to Karma’s impulse gift to you. You’re lying on the floor of your dorm with Karma by your side, staring up at the stars the two of you just placed on your ceiling and giggling over how embarrassing it is that you’re still afraid of the dark at the ripe old age of twenty one. ‘She’s probably going to kill you too, or atleast ban you from the dorm.’ Karma stops laughing, biting her lip in thought and gazing over at you, her green eyes sparkling with mischief.

‘She can’t kill you. Who’ll spend their afternoons lying on the floor with me if your dead?’ Karma asks flirtatiously, leaning over slowly, pressing a quick kiss to your lips before rolling back into lying position, sighing in content.

‘Is that really all I’m good for?’ you ponder, feeling a little dazed, grinning and winking at her. She laughs at you, holding her stomach and keeling over a bit. You can’t get enough of that sound, it’s infectious.

‘I’m afraid of heights you know.’ She says softly, her laughter finally subsiding. You smile at Karma, reaching down and taking her hand in yours, slipping her fingers in between yours playfully. ‘Remember that time we went for a hike up by old mans peak…’ you nod your head because it was one of the first dates you and Karma went on together, so there’s like no way your ever forgetting that. ‘You thought you were being so romantic dragging me over to the edge of the cliff to look out at the lake, I on the other hand was trying to concentrate on not fainting the entire time.’

‘Karma!’ you sit up a bit, outraged that she let you drag her out there and stand there for ten minutes when she was petrified.

‘You asked me why I was shaking and I said it was because I was cold.’ She giggles, covering her mouth to stop herself from bursting out laughing at your shocked expression. ‘That was bullshit. I was terrified.’

‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ you ask her poking her side to make her squirm. ‘You never would have taken me up there if I told you…’ her voice trails off as she too props herself up so that your now watching her green eyes intently, her lips inches away from yours. ‘I wanted to go out with you. You would have dumped me that day if you thought I was some scared little cheerleader.’

‘Dumped? You weren’t even…’ you choke a little bit on your words, completely aware of the fact that she still isn’t even your girlfriend officially. ‘You aren’t my girlfriend, so I cant dump you unfortunately.’ Karma seems to deflate a little bit in front of you, and it’s obvious why, she’s been hinting at the whole relationship conversation for the past week or so, and you shrug it off everytime because your petrified of getting hurt. Being official will entitle you to bring up the fact that she shows up at your dorm room wreaking of alcohol basically everytime you hang out, and sometimes you swear that you see lipstick stains on her clothes – which is probably hers or even yours, but you cant think about that right now.

‘Your being weird. This is getting way to serious.’ Karma quirks her eyebrow, her eyes lingering down towards your lips indicating what she wants, her tongue darting out to wet her own. ‘Maybe we should just make out instead of being boring and serious.’ She breathes out quietly and the second her sentence is finished your slowly kissing on the floor, so slowly that it’s obvious you’re not just friends with benefits anymore, every kiss is tentative, sweet, tender, the complete opposite of a pure hook up.

You break apart blushing when your dorm room door swings open and Jen appears in front of the two of you, frazzled looking and totally smirking at what she just walked in on.

‘Amy you have Karma’s lipstick all over your face.’ Jen sings dashing into your bathroom in search of something. ‘And Karma the top button of your shirt is open one too many holes to be done for fashion.’ You blush and Karma just shrugs her shoulders, standing up and brushing the dust of her jeans before fawning over the outfit Jen just put on, something that has never interested you.

‘It’s a really cute dress. Just let me fix one thing.’ She reaches over and takes a pin off Jens desk, signalling for her to twirl around which she does, and Karma bends down basically going underneath Jens skirt which shocks you but neither of them seems to care when she emerges and the dress looks insanely, dare you say it hot with whatever adjustment Karma made. ‘See? The magic of a pin. Just check out Amy’s jaw there, it’s a clear indicator of how hot it looks now.’ You quickly close your mouth and turn away from staring at her, Karma and Jen both laughing at you.

‘Karma your actually a miracle worker. Craig is going to die when he see’s this, so will Binky.’ Jen checks out her reflection in the mirror, hugging Karma quickly as a thank you, and you smile at how well they seem to be getting along lately, it’s important to you that Karma gets along with your friends since your seeing her. ‘Actually, why don’t the two of you come with me, I’m meeting Craig and Binky and her boyfriend down at Joe’s for dinner? It’s sort of a double date, but it can easily be adjusted to be a triple date…’ Jen knowingly looks to Karma for a response, obviously not oblivious to your relationship reluctance as she tries to push it on to you.

‘Um. I’m game, it could be fun, Amy?’ Karma looks over to you, biting her lip nervously and clasping her hands together as Jen shoots you ‘don’t fuck this up’ looks from behind her. Your petrified to answer but the more you look at Karma’s face, the more you realise that you to put a smile on it.

‘Sure. Why not.’ Karma lets out a sigh of relief, before frowning down at what she’s wearing, a pout forming across her lips at her casual clothes. Moments like this remind you that your basically dating the most girlish girl you possibly could have picked. ‘Karma you look beautiful as you are.’ You throw your hands up and down her outfit, but she’s still pouting.

‘You can borrow one of my dresses if you want?’ Jen offers and Karma squeals, diving into her arms and thanking her repeatedly before starting her search on the closet. ‘I’ll meet you two down there in like, a half hour?’ Jen asks you and you nod your head as she sends you a knowing smile. ‘Put something nice on Amy.’ She calls out just before she leaves and you flop back on your bed groaning, Karma smirking over at you.

X

Your sitting in a booth with Karma firmly tucked underneath your arm on one side laughing happily as she chats to Binky, and Jen on your other side poking fun at your lack of experience in riding bicycles. Everyone is having an amazing time and it’s making the internal battle over asking Karma to be your girlfriend more and more like a one sided victory to the latter, because every single thing that the two of you have done tonight has matched up to your two best friends and their boyfriends behaviour, sometimes you caught yourself acting more like a couple then them.

When you arrived at the restaurant you and Karma held hands on your way to find the rest of them, you split a started between the two of you, argued over which mains each of you could get so the other could try it, and Karma basically fed your dessert to you gazing into your eyes the entire time and kissing you whenever she felt that the two of you wouldn’t be teased. You wanted to spend the rest of the evening talking to her and her alone, but of course, Karma being a social butterfly was not oblivious to the fact that that would be rude, so she started up a lively conversation with Binky about last years Victoria’s Secret show and you got dragged into a dude-esque conversation with Jen and the two guys.

‘Amy is like the only person that I have ever met who eats that many donuts, and could still walk the runway in a Victoria’s Secret fashion show.’ Karma’s clearly still obsessed with your eating abilities, having spent a good hour two days ago moaning to you about how she’s getting fat spending time with you and your still remaining the same.

‘Relationship weight gain is a thing.’ Jen calls out making their conversation spring over to you too, both Karma and Binky nod there heads as if it’s some sort of conspiracy theory they just solved, which makes you laugh a little, and you instantly regret it.

‘It’s not funny Amy.’ Karma says sternly, both Binky and Jen glaring at you too. ‘You literally feed me all the time, we always eat equal amounts, yet you still have those abs…’ Karma blushes a bit thinking about them and Binky teases her, until you pull her in towards you to protect her. ‘You have abs, I have flabs. End of story.’ Karma points down at her belly and you genuinely don’t understand how she could think for one second that she’s fat.

‘Karma you have an amazing body. I literally cant get enough of it. Besides, even if you had flabs, which you don’t, I’d still want you. Your gorgeous.’ Your voice is soft and reassuring, letting your hand slip down to her butt playfully until she yanks it up grinning at you and pecking your lips as a thanks for the compliment. You love the fact that this seems so easy in front of your friends, Karma fits in so nicely.

‘Um guys.’ Jen jokes pulling Josh and Craig out of their conversation. ‘Now is your time to tell Binky and I how amazing we are or we’re just going to have to dive head first into this whole bisexual thing for attention.’

Everyone laughs and the jokes and drinks start rolling and it’s not long before you have Karma pinned up against a wall in a nightclub, a drunken haze taking over as the two of you kiss like you’ve never kissed before. Calvin Harris ‘how deep is your love’ playing in the background. Hands are roaming everywhere, hair is completely out of place, and your friends smacking your butt every now and then teasing you just does not stop you from drowning in the feeling of Karma.

‘Want to get out of here?’ Karma basically purrs in your ear as you suck on her pulse point and nod your head. She takes your hand in hers, wobbling a bit drunkenly as she pulls you through the crowd in the nightclub towards the exit, every now and then glancing back at you, biting her lip and smirking seductively. Your sexually frustrated. She definetly knows it. You need to be in your dorm room with a naked Karma, like right now.

The exit is in sight when your suddenly met with a bunch of squealing girls embracing Karma and jumping around to the latest dance hit, Karma kissing every single one of them on the cheeks in front of you, never letting go of your hand in hers. ‘Amy these are some of the girls on my squad…’ Karma attempts to introduce you to them but you really are struggling to spot the difference between any of them right now, they’re all either blonde or brunette with a tonne of make up on and skimpy clothes that you find hot right now, but if you were to look back them tomorrow you’d be shocked that they were comfortable wearing them out. The girls tug you both back to the dancefloor where the start performing so overly slutty dance routine they must have developed at cheer camp, crowds of guys gathering around to cheer them on, Karma in the centre knocking back shots she’s being handed. You’re a little bit peeved that you could of being getting laid right now but instead your stuck here, getting your ass smacked by a bunch of guys who think you’re one of the cheerleaders.

‘Amy!’ Jen appears beside you and you’ve never been happier to see you when she pulls you off towards the rest of your friends, gathered around a pool table having a few drinks and chatting amongst eachother. ‘Where’s Karma?’

‘With her posse.’ You roll your eyes pointing over to the dancefloor at Karma in the centre of the group of overly drunk girls and guys, laughing and dancing with them, all attention seeming to be centred on her.

‘Oh right. Sucks to be dating a popular person.’ Jen laughs handing you a cue stick. ‘Come on grumpy, Binky and Joshua are beating the crap out of me and Craig, you can be on our team.’ You smile gratefully at your friend.

It’s lunch time the next day when you finally hear from Karma, your phone lighting up with her picture appearing on your phone screen. You debate ignoring her call, thinking better of it when you remember how persistent she is.

‘Hello.’ You answer casually, pressing the phone up against your ear.

‘Hey you.’ Karma’s voice is groggy , and you hate that you think she sounds really cute right now, so you quickly push that feeling aside. Trying to remember that she was supposed to be snuggled up against you right now, not calling you in the middle of the afternoon probably from some Fratt boys house. ‘Amy, are you there?’

‘What, yeah I’m here.’ You respond, letting out a fake yawn to fawn her off. ‘Look Karma I’m really tired-‘

‘I’m outside. Open your door.’ Karma says softly and you’re a little surprised as you slip out of your bed and open the door to find Karma standing in front of you, phone still pressed to her ear to match yours. ‘I’ve got to go. I let this really cute girl down last night, and I’m hoping that she’ll let me in to her dorm to apologise to her.’ Karma flips down her phone, eyeing you for any sort of reaction, which makes you sigh in defeat, stepping aside for her to come in, and she does, on her way cupping your cheeks and pecking your lips with a ‘Hey.’ the faint smell of liquor lingering on her, probably from the common mimosa she seems to have

‘How are you feeling?’ you ask her, fetching yourself a glass of water and taking a seat on your bed next to her.

‘Physically, fine. Emotionally, like shit.’ Karma responds flatly, her gaze shifting to you. ‘We were having so much fun last night Amy, I guess I got carried away with the cheerleaders and I ruined it.’ You scratch the back of your neck, unable to hide your emotions right now. ‘Are you mad?’ she asks tentatively.

‘I’m not mad.’ You respond letting out a sigh. ‘I guess I’m just disappointed. Maybe a little bit jealous.’

‘Jealous?’ Karma asks shaking her head in confusion. ‘Amy you have nothing to be jealous about. They’re just my friends.’

‘Not like that.’ You cross your arms over your chest and avoid her eyes. ‘I’m just jealous of other people Karma.’

‘Why?’

‘They can make the whole relationship thing work. Everytime I feel like we’re getting there, close to becoming an us, rather than a you and me, something messes it up.’ Karma beams at you, and your confused because your not exactly saying anything positive right now. ‘Why are you smiling?’ you ask her, baffled. Karma reaches out and takes your hand in hers, resting them on her lap and playing with your fingers, exactly like she did last night.

‘You’re like the only person in the world that I ever wanted to be an us with.’ Karma cups your cheeks resting her forehead against hers. ‘Don’t give up on me. We can get there.’

‘How are you so confident that we can?’

‘I’ve never felt like this before.’ Karma swallows, her voice soft and her eyes locked on yours. ‘You make me feel like this Amy.’

‘You make me feel like this too.’ A smile spreads across your face, your lips finding Karma’s in a chaste kiss, neither of you really knows what this is, but in that moment you knew that there was no way you wouldn’t find out.

To Karma <3: Free tonight? ;)

Karma: I wish, sorry L

You spent that evening with Binky and Jen, watching Netflix and binging on copious amounts of junk food, your heart racing everytime your phone beeped and ‘Karma <3’ appeared on the screen.

X

To Karma <3: I’m starting to think every red head I see is you, please come hang out with me?

Karma: I can come over for a sleep-over later, but I really mean a sleep-over horndog, lots to do tomorrow. I’m starting to think you miss me. Your cute.

You held Karma that night, her eye’s drooping closed listening to you ramble on about your anatomy class earlier in the day, until eventually she gave in to her tiredness, telling you to ‘shut up and just hold me’ as politely as possible and snuggling down into your side. You try to ignore the scent of alcohol brushing against your cheek, you really do.

X

To Karma: There’s a new ‘Bring it on’ out. Check it out with me?

Karma: Can’t today L You want see a cheer movie? I’m corrupting you. I bet Binky wants to see it though. Sleep-over tonight? I’m in need of a back message, I really mean a message though, no time for sexy time L

Karma lay on your floor that night, face down, obviously a little bit tipsy, yelling at you to stand on her back where it’s been hurting her, you refusing to do it in case it hurt her, but eventually giving in when she fake cried in pain, laughing victoriously when you were finally on top of her, literally. She feel asleep in your arms that night, your laptop open in front of the two of you with the latest episode of ‘Pretty little liars’ playing, you spent the next couple of hours listening to her breathe, admiring the curve of her mouth and her pale skin. It only got creepy when Jen caught you, promising you that she’d tell Karma the first chance she gets with a smirk on her face.

X

To Karma <3: Lunch in my dorm? ;-)

Karma: Yes.

Your exhausted. Karma’s lying completely naked on top of you, her entire body glistening with sweat. Her face pressed into the crook of your neck, breathing deeply trying to catch her breath. Time stands still as the two of you soak in the feeling of eachother in that moment, completely vulnerable, completely bare. Karma’s the first to lift her head, her hair sticking to her sweaty forehead, a relaxed expression lining her face. You tuck a strand of hair behind her ear and she leans in kissing you sweetly, slowly climbing off you in the process and flaunting her naked body in front of you as she walks over to your bathroom.

‘Where are you going?’ you quip, feeling every limb of your body ache with the need to rest after what just happened. ‘Come back to bed, please.’

‘Amy it’s two in the afternoon, I can’t. I have a ball to plan.’ Karma’s sticks her tongue out at you from the bathroom door, her previously naked body covered by your shirt that she had pulled off your body less than two hours ago.

‘I’m offended. Did you just use me for sex?’ you tease her, rolling over a bit so your lounging on your side and gazing towards the bathroom, waiting on the auburn haired girl to emerge. Karma scoffs from the bathroom, her head popping out again, this time with a toothbrush in her mouth.

‘Oh come on, you were like a dog in heat when I got here, gagging for it.’ Karma rolls her eyes, obviously remembering how you greeted her for your lunch date, with a steamy kiss that just so happened to end up with her pressed underneath you on your bed, writhing in pleasure and moaning your name. ‘I’m sorry that I decided to be a nice…’ she stumbles a bit, looking for the word to describe whatever the hell you are to her right now. ‘um…friend…and not leave you sexually frustrated.’

‘Your right, friend.’ You sigh and she sticks her tongue out at you again, slipping back into the bathroom. Which is way to far away for you. ‘I just wish you brushed your teeth before we had sex…’ you mumble and Karma takes the bait, basically charging out of the bathroom and diving on top of you, tickling you and making you squirm, her bare thighs straddling you.

‘Hi.’ She breathes out, softly running the tips of her fingers along your cheeks, pressing a soft languid kiss to your swollen lips, your hands roam up and down her soft thighs, feeling your heart racing at the intimacy of the moment. ‘I missed you.’ You blush, nervous about what she’s saying, because you missed her too, more than you care to admit, Karma has been too busy lately to pop over for your usual day dates. Your not supposed to miss a friend with benefits, right? ‘Is that ok? That I missed you?’ she asks cautiously, examining your face for any sort of reaction. You know that your answer is important in deciphering whatever you are. You lean up capturing her lips with yours again, softly rolling her over so that she’s laying underneath you now, your bodies pressed together intimately.

‘I missed you too.’ You whisper back, feeling completely dazed by her beauty in just one of your shirts, with messy bed hair and barely there make up. ‘So why can’t you stay in bed with me for the rest of the day?’ you let your head fall into the crook of her neck, inhaling her coconut scent. ‘Make up for lost time together?’ Karma giggles underneath you, her fingers dancing on the bare skin of your lower back.

‘Your sleeping with the Captain of the cheerleaders, like a week before the annual charity cheerball. I had to sneak out of my duties just to be here now.’ Karma tries to explain to you, you nod along, pretending to understand what she’s talking about, but the smirk on her face tells you that she knows you haven’t got a clue. ‘Amy did you even know that cheerleaders exist outside ‘Bring it on’ before you met me.’ Karma pinches your sides making you squirm and roll of her, onto your side, your arm instinctively latching around her waist making her smile.

‘Maybe.’

‘It’s my duty as captain of the cheerleaders to set everything up for the big night, and host it, I’m pretty sure my face goes on the leaflet as well, so don’t tease me if you see one or we’re never having sex again.’ Karma imitates overly flagrant spirit fingers above you, making you both laugh. ‘You have no idea how much work goes into coordinating ribbons, placemats, meeting with events teams, and sending out an invite list.’

‘Is that the reason why your always so tired when you come over here lately?’ you ask her caringly, you have noticed how stressed and tired she’s been lately, always just wanting you to hold her while the two of you watch Netflix. You just figured it was to do with course work or something.

‘Well spotted Raudenfeld.’ She pats your chest, climbing of you again and going in search of her clothes for the outside world. ‘It’s a pretty big deal, you know? It’s black tie, and everyone who’s invited has to bring a date… you… you don’t want to go with me do you? I know how much you hate cheerleaders… and everything to do with them…’ apart from you. You clear your throat, awkwardly trying to form some sort of response because part of you does want to go with her, another part of you hates the idea of being surrounded by those kinds of people. You just shake your head on the pillow, unable to speak, and Karma’s face falters for a second, showing her disappointment at your answer before she quickly shrugs it off, bending down to kiss you again before she leaves, this time cupping your cheeks. ‘I’ve got to go. I have a lot to do today, including finding a platonic date to the ball now. You’ll call me?’

‘You know I will.’ You muster out, and she stops at the door, pulling out three tickets from her bag and stuffing them into your desk drawer. ‘They’re just spares, I’ll just leave them there until the ball. I’ll be waiting on your call later…’

The second the door closes, you feel every part of you, aching for her to come back.

X

‘Amy you have to get us an invite.’ Binky and Jen come barging through your lab doors, pamphlet in hand and massive smiles on their faces. Your beyond confused as to what they’re talking about, or how you can get them an invite anywhere considering your not exactly little miss popularity – see your academic record and current position alone in a lab on a Friday evening. You shoot them a puzzled look, stepping away from your experiment and pulling off your gloves to take the pamphlet they basically shove into your chest.

‘Annual cheer ball.’ You scoff, rolling your eyes at the horrendous name. ‘Are you fucking kidding me? You both want to go to some bimbo filled party where you’ll get groped by a punch of dudes with small dicks and inflated egos.’

‘Exactly.’ Binky answers clapping her hands. ‘We’re glad you understand.’

‘Your clearly forgetting that you are in fact dating the head bimbo. I’m sure she’d appreciate hearing you call her that by the way.’ Jen snorts rolling her eyes at you. ‘Actually, why are you not going? You should be there right? You know they have to bring dates?’

‘I do.’ You cringe remembering the awkward conversation you and Karma had about this night like a week ago in your dorm room. Her spouting on about how important this night is for her as head cheerleader to make a good impression, you making fun of her the entire time, which eventually lead to Karma saying the dreaded sentence ‘You don’t want to come do you.’ And you panicking on the spot and just sort of moving your head a bit on the pillow which she accepted as know. ‘Karma’s bringing her friend Chris Connell… or Kennedy… something like that.’

‘Shock, horror.’ Binky laughs propping herself up on a station. ‘The head cheerleader brings the captain of the football team to a party. Who knew that would happen. Here, this is him.’ Binky throws her phone over to you which you catch and check out a picture of Chris which makes you suddenly feel like you’re going to explode or implode or whatever with jealousy because your gay and you still think he’s hot. ‘Hot right? Karma’s pretty lucky if you ask me. You said they’re friends right?’

‘Can I borrow a dress off someone?’ you ask them desperately and they both laugh hysterically at you, ushering you out of the lab.

X

‘Amy I love you.’ Jen whispers into your ear as you walk arm in arm into the lobby of some hotel where the cheerleader ball is on, you have to admit, the place looks amazing, Karma really has an eye for design. ‘I mean, swiping your girlfriends spare tickets for us, that’s rich.’

‘First off, Karma’s just my friend. Secondly, I didn’t swipe them.’ You defend yourself, feeling a tiny bit guilty about just showing up like this. ‘It’s more like she left them in my drawer for safe keeping, and I realised that there’s no point in them being safe when the ball is already over now is there?’ Binky cocks an eyebrow at you, gesturing over to the punch bowel where the three of you go and fetch yourselves a drink before finding a spot near the dance floor to hover at. Jen and Binky loving every second of being at this party, you, more so leaning towards the where is Karma and why haven’t you seen her all night side.

‘Chris!’ some guys standing near you signals for the guy you know as Karma’s date to come over to him, and you basically glare at him the entire time while listening to their conversation. ‘Dude what’s up? Where’s your date? Word on the street is she looks smoking tonight.’

‘She really does dude. Like I’m talking I would love to relive our freshman year level of smoking.’

‘What happened in freshman year?’

‘We banged a couple of times. It was fun. She was great. Never asked me for anything else. Karma’s a cool chick like that.’

‘So what’s stopping you tonight?’

‘Get this, I arrive over at her place to pick her up, and everythings cool, I lean in to kiss her hello and she like stops me, pushing me back a little bit, when she tells me that she can’t. She’s seeing someone that she’s really into.’ Chris looks genuinely arrogant about the fact that Karma rejected him, and you can’t help but feel elated by the news, that is until he keeps yapping his big perfectly sculpted mouth. ‘Dude, it’s Karma Ashcroft, she’ll have a couple of drinks, we’ll ‘talk’.’ He uses air quotations. ‘And she’ll be naked in my bed by the end of the night. Guaranteed.’ With that the other guy fist pumps him and the two of them disperse, leaving you alone with your thoughts on this whole Karma thing again.

‘Amy she pushed him away. That’s a good thing.’ Jen sympathises patting your shoulder.

‘The whole couple of drinks thing, you cant guarantee that would happen if you weren’t here.’ Binky chimes in, raising her eyebrows.

‘Besides why are you here talking to us when you should be of talking to Kar-‘

‘Hey guys!’ an obviously tipsy, yet completely elated looking Karma appears directly in front of you, wedged in between Binky and Jen. She looks amazing. Beautiful. Everything you ever dreamed of and more. She’s grinning from ear to ear at you, and you grin back, until your eyes linger down to the drink in her hand and you start to panic a little. ‘I can’t believe you actually came.’ Karma says excitedly reaching out to touch your arm, and when she does you feel those all too familiar butterflies. Fire burning in the pit of your stomach with the desire to touch her.

‘Here I am.’ You respond finally when Binky semi kicks you. Karma looks in between the three of you, clearly sensing the awkwardness that has formed but she shrugs it off, like the social queen she is. ‘Sorry for using your spare tickets.’ You throw out, trying to end the silence and she just stares down at her feet, beaming.

‘You think I left them there by accident?’ Karma asks you lifting her head and raising an eyebrow. ‘Think about it Raudenfeld, why would I leave exactly three tickets to the cheerleader soiree of the year in your nightstand when the ball is tonight.’ Karma giggles a little bit as realization swipes across the three of your faces, Binky and Jen teasing you for blushing before mumbling something about checking the rest of the party leaving the two of you alone. Karma steps a little further into your space and tilts her head, lining herself up for you to kiss her and just waiting.

‘You look amazing.’ You breathe out, your lips gently brushing against hers but not kissing her yet. ‘Beautiful.’ You kiss her this time, soft and yielding and you can feel her hands fluttering up your sides to tie themselves around your neck, smiling into the kiss.

‘Mmm. What made you decide to come?’ she asks you rubbing her nose against yours and playing with the hair on the back of your neck. Your eyes trail over to Chris in then centre of the room, openly flirting with two girls on either side of him, a smug smirk on his face, and Karma grins leaning into your chest and giggling a bit. ‘Jealousy? That’s the secret to get you to come to all my cheerleader events with me. Get you all hot and bothered and jealous.’

‘Karma it’s not funny.’ You sputter out, feeling your cheeks tinging a deep shade of red as she cups your cheeks and peppers kisses across your face playfully. ‘He was planning on getting you drunk and sleeping with you tonight. I heard him say it to his buddy over there.’

‘Really?’ Karma asks disinterestedly. ‘That’s a pity because I was planning on getting drunk and sleeping with you tonight.’ Karma pulls out her phone and shows you her phone screen, an uber receipt appearing for three am from this hotel to your dorm building. ‘Amy you have to trust me. I like you. A lot. I think that’s pretty obvious. I’m not going to do anything to mess this up.’

‘Your right, I’m sorry. I guess I just freak out sometimes for no reason. I trust you.’ You find it hard to say the last part of your sentence and Karma obviously notices, so she kisses you and gazes into your eyes. ‘You don’t trust me Amy. But you will. I know my reputation around here, but I’m changing it, with you. Takes time.’

‘Amy. Who let you in.’ Lauren appears beside you, basically snarling in your direction. ‘Are you two still doing the lesbian horizontal tango?’ you snort at her, getting annoyed, when Karma slots her fingers into yours and grins at Lauren.

‘We’ve moved on to more of a rumba. Bit more rhythm and definitely better positions.’ Now it’s your turn to laugh as Lauren walks away, disgusted at what Karma said, and you feel like in that moment Karma proved to you that she’s more than just a pretty face for the thousand time.

‘Your funny.’ You laugh bringing your hands up and kissing them softly.

‘Spot on though. The sex has been exceptionally hot lately. You definetly picked up some new moves somewhere along the way blondie.’ She replies winking at you. ‘I wish I could stay here with you for the night, but nights like this are sort of like a job for me, I have to go around and greet everyone with an award winning smile plastered across my face. I flirt a little too by the way, try not to get too jealous.’ Karma rolls her eyes and you nudge her off a bit. ‘I’ll text you when I’m ready to leave? We can share my uber?’ you nod your head and she kisses you one more time before disappearing into the crowds to socialise.

‘Is she drunk?’ Jen asks as her and Binky re emerge beside you.

‘A little. But she’s good. We’re good.’ You explain and they both smile at you clinking all three of your cups together.

You spend the rest of the night dancing and partying with your two best friends, catching glimpses of Karma walking by every now and then sending you cute little smiles or flirtatious winks. All of which have you beyond excited for the moment she sends you a text to let you know she’s ready to go, and it comes a couple of hours later, just a little more misspelt and fragmented than you anticipated. Great, she’s drunk. There goes sex night.

You gather your jacket and slip into the lobby of the hotel where you find that guy Chris with his hands all over an overtly drunk Karma, clearly trying to convince her to go home with him. Your mad. Not mad at Karma right now. But mad at society for convincing him that it’s ok to do that to her. So you ignore him, stepping in between him and Karma and watching as her face lights up when she sees its you.

‘Baby!’ Karma grasps your face and sloppily kisses you, obviously a massive display being put on for Chris who seems annoyed by your presence. ‘See Chris, back off, this is my baby. I’m going to sex her tonight.’ You cringe internally and Karma squeezes your cheeks as Chris stalks off as arrogant as ever.

‘Your wasted. Let’s get you to bed.’ You take Karma’s hand in yours, walking her out of the hotel and basically hoisting her into an uber.

It doesn’t take long for you to be lying in your bed, Karma cuddled into you, well basically on you, and your arms wrapped around her. Your nearly convinced she’s passed out or something when she suddenly lifts her head from your chest, completely out of it and grins at you, biting her lip in this totally adorably drunk way.

‘You’re the best thing to ever happen to me, like ever.’ She whispers to you, as if it’s some sort of a secret, and she makes you laugh when she pulls your hand up to make you pinky promise that you wont tell yourself that, before she falls asleep again, and you just sit there, listening to her breathing, wondering if you can handle being in a relationship with this Karma.
