The MTV 2014 Awards has had quite a lot of anticipation because of all the people who were nominated as well as all the red carpet outfits that we could not wait to see. While a few people had us disappointed with their looks as we expected more, a few others had us nodding in approval with their outfit choices for the night.

The 2014 MTV Movie Awards which held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on April 13, 2014 in Los Angeles, California was a fun-filled event was a fun-filled event and the fashion statements of the night had an easy atmosphere of casual meets chic. The hottest young stars hit the red carpet for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards and we have put together a list of 15 looks we loved from the awards.

Rihanna
Rihanna’s look for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards has fluctuated between a lot of Best Dressed and Worst Dressed looks of the day. For us it is one of the more interesting looks. She was in a slinky little number from the Ulyana Sergeenko Spring 2014 Couture collection. The beige satin corseted bodysuit, topped by a pastel pink robe dress with voluminous sleeves, had boudoir written all over it. To accessorize she wore a pair of Manolo Blahnik nude sandals alongside sparkling, eye-catching jewels, including a Vieri ‘Lily Love’ morganite pendant necklace, a Vieri ‘Hidden’ ring and an Ana Khouri three-pearl ‘Jane’ ear cuff. Smoldering makeup and a updo of curls only emphasized the seductive statement.

Anthony Mackie
Actor Anthony Mackie was one of the few men who looked fully formal for the night and we love a man in a good suit. His choice of grey for the afternoon was a good one and while we would have preferred this look with a pair of black shoes as opposed to his brown, it is ultimately a look that works for us.

Kat Graham
Kat Graham is another person who was borderline on the best dressed and worst dressed list as a lot of people have described her outfit as busy. We love it though – Kat Graham looked fierce in a mixed print Roberto Cavalli design dress. She looked amazing on the red carpet. Her orange lipstick is one of our lipstick trends to try out so she is definitely winning in that area.

Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita has been away from the red carpet for a while but the Kenyan actress is back with a bang. Wearing a playful and very colourful Chanel piece she made a perfect choice for the MTV Movie Awards red carpet. She paired her dress off with another pair of her deliciously hued shoes, this time completing the dress with searing, cerulean-blue Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps.. Her beauty look was a smoky, metallic eye and apple-red lip.

Seth Rogan
Seth Rogan went for the MTV Movie awards in his usual manner of a biker jacket and jeans but he looked FAB list worthy. Naturally we love Seth Rogan, his biker jacket was however what caught our eye with the tan leather insert into what would have otherwise been a plain look.

Jessica Alba
Actress Jessica Alba had the right mix of sweet and chic in her white crop tube top and neon green flared skirt. She wore a white Piece D’anarchive bordeaux top with Kenzo fall 2014 neon color box pleated skirt knee-length skirt. She completed her look with a Narciso Rodriguez bottletop Jessica clutch  and Jimmy Choo Abel Pointed Woven Fabric Pumps in Black & White her rings and earrings also gave us something to love.

Rita Ora
Singer Rita Ora was elegance on the red carpet and then some. In a black figure-flaunting, structured black Barbara Casasola Fall 2014 gown, she had a look of rather restrained elegance (save for the plunge neckline that provided a good dose of décolletage). She accessorized with a dainty Jennifer Fisher necklace, alongside a selection of not-so-delicate, door-knocker cocktail rings and statement earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. We are also completely in love with her clutch.

Zac Efron
Zac Efron is perhaps the only one who got the memo about the outfit for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards. He went with a casual yet easy look and still managed to make us fall in love with him all over again. A casual denim shirt over black pants and black tie shoes were all he needed. We were also not blind to that oh-so-yummy moment where he took off his shirt on stage.

Ellie Goulding
Singer Ellie Goulding was a vision in all white. A delicate outfit made all the more risky and lovely with side cutouts. She wore a crisp, white Giorgio Armani dress with black peep-toe Jimmy Choos. Ellie always adds her own brand of style to the red carpet so we think this look was perfect for her. The detailing on the dress–from the cut-outs to the pockets to the A-line skirt–are fashion-forward and fun, but still classy. Her side-swept tousled hair, shiny pink lips and funky silver bracelet all add additional Ellie charm

Iggy Azalea
Iggy! Iggy!! Iggy!! This dress would have been amazing if it was either short, or long but the tea-length does not work for it. What works for the singer, and why she is on this list, are amazing choice of shoes and her cocktail rings. Her dress, from the John Galliano Spring 2014 collection, was worn with the same Galliano footwear seen on the runway.

Chrissy Teigen
John Legend’s new bride was all cute and adorable on the red carpet. The model wore a short and sweet Ulyana Sergeenko Spring 2014 Couture cocktail dress paired with black Christian Louboutin pumps. This dress is the perfect flirty number for the event and to show off Chrissy’s enviable assets which are her gorgeous legs.

Rocsi Diaz
TV Presenter Rocsi Diaz was white-hot in a Monica Rose for Lovers + Friends Lucia Vegan Leather Crop Top and a Charlie Skirt. We love the combination of this look which gave a flirty, cute and chic look. We also love the laser cut-out detail at hem.

Zendaya Coleman
Zendaya has been one of the constants on the red carpet best dressed list lately. The actress wore an Emanuel Ungaro Fall 2014 neon yellow, black and chartreuse frock. The dress wowed with its exuberant, stencil rose print and confident colour, to which Zendaya added a rocker-chic touch with a good dose of sparkling bling in her spiky, embellished Christian Louboutin black ankle-strap pumps.

Nicki Minaj
More than anything else we love the jewelry on Nicki Minaj. It was a surprise to see the singer on the red carpet and even more of a surprise to see her in a calm look that was mature and understated. Sh wore a refined Alexander McQueen figure-scraping, black gown that we love!
