A star-studded remarkable evening like the Oscars cannot be forgotten in a jiffy. The annual Academy Awards popularly tagged as the Oscars held yesterday in Los Angeles, hosting the top celebrities in Hollywood who have been anticipating the exclusive ceremony since the 2013 edition.

For the second time in a row, Jennifer Lawrence lost her footing on the red carpet and tripped on a cone hitting the ground in her smoking hot red Dior gown before she was helped up by the standby guards on the red carpet. As expected she rose up in total grace paying no bother to the nasty fall. You may recall the Hunger Games star fell on the steps on her way to the stage to accept Best Supporting Actress honour for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. Lawrence was saved by her charm this time.

Jared Leto had the first win of the evening. The Dallas Buyers Club actor was graced with the Best supporting actor statue for his outstanding role in the film. He gave a touching shout-out to his mom, who sat beside him smiling proud.
“In 1971 Bossier City, LA, there was a teenage girl who was pregnant with her second child. She was a high-school dropout and a single mom, but somehow she managed to make a better life for herself and her children. She encouraged her kids to be creative, to work hard and to do something special. That girl is my mother, and she’s here tonight. I just want to say, I love you, Mom. Thank you for teaching me to dream. To my brother, Shannon, the best big brother in the world, you’re a true artist. Thank you so much for sharing this insane and amazing adventure that is 30 Seconds to Mars, and for being my best friend. I love you. Thank you.”
Jared thanked his mother for playing a part in his success.

Pharell’s infectious performance of “Happy” compelled the audience who chorused the lyrics to the song especially Meryl Streep shimmying to the fun beat. Pink got the audience stirred up with her “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” song in tribute to Judy Garland and The Wizard of Oz.

Ellen who was the host of the show made the ‘selfie’ history. She gathered an all-star celebrity selfie which included – Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Lawrence, Kevin Spacey and Lupita Nyong’o in one pose. Bradley Cooper seemed to have taken the photo as Ellen tweeted,

The photo was re-tweeted over 2.5 million times beating the epic Obama’s re-election photo post causing twitter to temporarily shutdown for over 2o minutes. Earlier Ellen handed out pizza to the Hollywood celebs and cajoled Harvey Weinstein and Brad Pitt to give in a huge tip in Pharell’s hat reminding them over 1 billion people were watching.

Once again, Lupita stole the show earning the Best Supporting actress at the Oscars for her role in Twleve Years A Slave. All eyes were fixed on the Kenyan beauty as she delivered her heart felt acceptance speech while tearing up on stage.
“Thank you to the Academy for this incredible recognition. It doesn’t escape me for one moment that so much joy in my life is thanks to so much pain in someone else’s. And so I want to salute the spirit of Patsey for her guidance. And for Solomon, thank you for telling her story and your own…When I look down at this golden statue, may it remind me and every little child that no matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid. Thank you.“
Twelve Years A Slave also bagged the Best Picture award making Steve McQueen the happiest man in the room.

Matthew McConaughey beat Leonardo Dicaprio, earning the Best Actor award for his character as the gaunt, AIDS-ravaged star in Dallas Buyers Club. McConaughey as usual said, “All right, all right, all right!” as an opening to his acceptance speech at the awards ceremony.
Chiwetel was shunned at the Oscars this time despite his outstanding role as Solomon Northup in Twelve Years A Slave.

Cate Blanchett accepted the best actress Oscar for Blue Jasmine, in a calm and gracious voice Cate said,
“As random and as subjective as this award is, it means a great deal in a year of extraordinary, yet again, extraordinary performances by women.” She complimented other co-stars nicely,
”To Julia Roberts, hashtag suck it ” also acknowledging Woody Allen, ”Thank you so much Woody, for casting me.” throwing a question at the audience, “By the way why does every Best Actress nominee feel compelled to salute all other nominees by name? Lets see if the Best Actor does the same.” She concluded.
