During the event, Carrie performed a private concert for more than 700 military families associated with Operation Homefront, which aims to build strong, stable, and secure military families. The ship was also christened by Miss USA Deshauna Barber, the first woman serving in the U.S. military to hold the title, who serves as the ship’s godmother.

Along with singing at the concert, Carrie helped raise funds with the sale of commemorative dog tags on her Storyteller tour. During her tour, she met with a number of military families who told stories of strength, courage, and spirit.
