Crochet Little Red Riding Hood Cape

September 22, 2016

redriding1

Crochet a costume! This Little Red Riding Hood Cape is an easy pattern (made up of simple single crochet stitches!) and the perfect addition to a Red Riding Hood outfit! Pattern is child size but I believe it will actually fit a wide range of ages. If you are looking for a handmade Halloween idea, this one is for you!

I created the design using Bernat Super Value yarn in Berry and you only need two skeins! And as I mentioned above, it consists of very basic, repetitive stitches. I always loved this classic fairytale and if you are trick-or-treating in the colder climates, this hooded cape will keep your little one warm! You can find my FREE pattern on Yarnspirations.com.

In addition I have a guest post on the Yarnspirations Blog with a detailed picture tutorial on how this Little Red Riding Hood Cape comes together.

Love this adorable cape! I’m thinking I’ll have to make this for my 4 year old in other colors as she’ll want to wear one all the time! 🙂

The cape is amazing, I’m thinking in fact about creating an “adult” one :))

I’m fairly new to crocheting and would like to make this in an adult size. What way would be the best to do this? Increase hook size, increase starting chains or something else? Thanks for any help!

I would like to make a few of these. For what age group would this size be appropriate for?
