Hello Cerealia! It’s time for February's event!

We Hope You've Got Friends On The Other Side
( Dates: ooc: 2/13 to 2/20 ; ic: 5/22 to 5/26 )

It's time for the mask effects from before to come into play -- with a bit of a field trip to the other side of that wall. In the middle of the night on 5/22, whatever characters might be doing will be interrupted (sorry about your beauty sleep!) and characters will suddenly find themselves dumped below ground, outside of the walls of the Residential District. They will be in the dark parts of the city, and will be able to explore said area. Naturally, of course, their masks will be joining them for the ride.

There will be dangers, both below and aboveground, but enterprising characters may be able to learn more about Cerealia, the story CERES is telling, and the origin of those creepy masks. This event will have long term ramifications for the overall plot of Cerealia depending on what choices characters make when there, and we're really excited for everyone to see it!

Players who would prefer to opt out of this event are welcome to do so; their characters will simply remain in Cerealia and will not be dragged into the dark parts of the city. Due to being away from the city, ViViD will be unaccessible for the characters who are taking part in the event. Similarly, CereVices will not function across the boundaries of the wall, though they will function within them. In other words, characters within the dark parts of the city can contact each other (if poorly, and with a great deal of static, and the occasional accidental contacting of other people when the CereVices glitch), but they will not be able to contact anyone left behind in Cerealia. Characters who remain behind in Cerealia will find that as soon as the other characters disappear, their personal masks become lifeless and can be thrown away without repercussion.

This event will also be introducing a new area to explore in Cerealia after the event. If players wish to revisit the log's setting at a later date, they will be able to do so. In fact, this location might be a bit familiar to anyone who has looked at the location page -- when the log goes up, of course.

A heads up, characters in the log will be trapped underground for two to three days ICly, and will be trapped in the dark parts of the city for up to four. Characters will still need to eat and sleep in that time, but they might find it a little hard to find any food at all, and fresh water will be hard to come by. Good luck out there!

You're welcome to use this post to form traveling parties together or plot. We understand that it will be difficult to plot until the phases are up, so please feel free to revisit this post for plotting when the event log goes up as well.

More information will come along with the event log, as well as the prompts, on 2/13, midnight GMT.

As always, if there are any questions, please ask them here. Thank you!
