Prompt: during s1 when Jen was with Sebastian
stan, they have a fight on set and break up. Lana goes to ‘comfort’ Jen who
she’s had a crush on since watching her in House. Maybe Meghan finds out/works
out what’s been happening and can’t keep the news to herself. Adam really isn’t
impressed, Eddy is supportive of them becoming a couple or whatever.  If it’s a multi chapter fic even better!

….

Lana had been staring at the door of Jen’s
trailer for far too long. Moments ago…maybe minutes
at this point it had slammed shut unceremoniously, as Jen disappeared inside.

“Hey, they need you back on set,”
Meghan jogged toward her and stopped a good distance away. She called out and
Lana turned her head, acknowledging her with a nod.

“I’ll…be right there. Give me a
minute,” Lana responded, looking at the trailer and crossing her arms over her
heavy parka. Spring didn’t come early in Vancouver, and she was frozen to the
bone. Briefly, her thoughts strayed to getting another nice hot Starbuck’s
coffee. She was only on her third hour of work and the shoot was estimated to
be a good 16 to 18 hours long.

Still Something was going on with her
co-star and she became determined to find out exactly what the problem was.
Without further hesitation, she took a few steps towards the door and then stopped
and thought better of it. If Jen was upset she probably wanted to be alone, and
besides Lana had scenes to shoot. As a professional she couldn’t spend her
precious free time worrying, she had to focus the job at hand.

Meghan was still there, her hands at
her sides, dressed in her bold Ruby costume. Lana turned away from the trailer,
and joined her as they walked back to filming.

“I think she had a fight with
Sebastian,” Meghan whispered conspiratorially as Lana let the information sink
in. She chose not to say anything, but the tension all throughout the
production was palpable. He was a nice guy, a bit of an ass for a regular Joe,
but in this business, finding an actor who wasn’t full of himself was
impossible.

Rumors began swirl softly at first, PA’s
and cameramen speaking in hushed whispers about Jen’s reserved and forlorn
demeanor, and then the crescendo grew until everyone was openly giving their
thoughts, opinions and theories as to what exactly had happened between the (up
until now) seemingly happy couple.

“He’s all wrong for her, she needs
someone more…artsy,” Ginny weighed in as she and Lana took a breather inside on
one of the sets that wasn’t being used that day. Lana rolled her neck and tried
to focus on her script notes, but her costume felt uncomfortable and her makeup
felt heavy, making it hard to concentrate.

“I’m sure she’s totally capable of
knowing what kind of partner she wants,” Lana defended Jen, even though she
shared the same opinion as Ginny.

“Yeah, and he’s kind of short, I don’t
know, she usually goes for more… exotic looking men,” Ginny added, as she
looked around nervously making sure no one had walked in on their conversation.
“You should talk to her, help break her out of this funk. It’s starting to get
to people.”

“No way, that’s not my place, and we’re
not like friends friends—not enough
for me to be butting in on her choice of men,” Lana maintained adamantly.

Ginny stood up from her chair, needing
to get back to work, “I’ve known Jen for years and you should think about it.
She likes you, maybe you can talk some sense into her. Everything gets so…effed
up on a TV show. It’s like living on another planet.”

Lana was unable to concentrate for the
rest of the day.

Three days had passed since Lana had
worked with Jen. She had been working with Sebastian, and he was gracious and
professional. He kept to himself and hit his marks. Everything in Wonderland
was all green screen and CGI, so Lana was at least grateful to be shooting on
an interior set. She was comfortable with acting with her imagination, but it
took a lot of planning and the days were going by slowly.

There were some stunts, a little bit
of running in a big silver dress and a lot of messing with hedges, but she got
through it. Still, it was bothering her how everyone was talking about the blow
out between Sebastian and Jen and he just wasn’t showing any emotion about it
whatsoever.

“Are you working with Jen at all this
week?” She asked him in a casual way as they took a break to reset a stunt
scene.

“No, not really, we already filmed the
mansion scenes and the night stuff for the episode, so this is pretty much it
and I can call it a wrap,” Sebastian shrugged, seeming a bit pleased that he
was almost done with his stint in Hat Trick.

“Oh,” Lana said, her brow furrowed as
she tried to figure out how to subtly try again. “Things going well with you
two?”

That was not subtle, and not what she
meant to say, but that’s how it came out. She couldn’t take it back. He stopped
picking over the catering cart and looked at her his lips forming an ‘O’ shape
as he sneered, and leaned closer to her, “Not particularly, she’s kind of
needy.”

Alarm bells rang out in Lana’s head as
she processed that information, but tried not to show it.

“And I’m outta here as soon as this
gig is done, I know I’m coming back for a little bit more near the end of the
season, but I just want to keep things on a profesh level, you know what I
mean?” He picked up a cocktail sandwich and took a bite, before she had a
chance to confirm if she did or didn’t know what he meant, he pointed at her
and continued to speak as he chewed, “I’m sure you’ve dated plenty of co-stars,
right?”

“Um… no, actually…I haven’t,” Lana
replied, hating that she was so caught off guard by this guy.

“Maybe you should date Jen,” he
finally swallowed and laughed, “she’s sort of obsessed with you, it would make
a lot of sense in a weird way.”

The director called that they were
ready for the next take and mercifully, Sebastian went to get his bad wig
repositioned and his makeup touched up. She heaved a sigh of relief, thankful
that the awkward conversation was over.

That night as she lay in bed she
couldn’t stop puzzling over his words. Lana knew that a small, but growing
number of fans shipped Regina and Emma, but she would never think that Jen
would actually want to date her. It was absurd, but again, Lana wanted to talk
to Jen and find out what he meant that she was obsessed with her. Honestly,
though Lana had kind of been acting off toward Jen for months, and it was time
to make that up to her.

The whole experience was surreal.
