1. Bissell DeepClean Lift-Off Carpet Cleaner 66E1
Click here for the best price and more details
You are going to see that our list is dominated by the Bissell brand, but the simple reason for that is that they are the ones who currently dominate the high pile carpet vacuums market. They bring together several technologies that work beautifully together to create the perfect tool for cleaning high pile carpets. Their top of the range product is the Bissell 66E1, it is a relatively new product that uses 12 rows of brushes to lift the dirt from even the deepest riches of the carpet. It comes with the Heatwave technology, that keeps the water warm so the cleaning effect is maximized. The interesting thing is that you can actually lift away the essential part of the vacuum, the water reservoir and the cleaning nozzle, so that you can easily reach and clean hidden areas of your home or car. You can remove the nozzle itself to clean it and then store it safely. If you can afford it, we think that the Bissell 66E1 is the best vacuum for high pile carpets out there.
2. Bissell Homecare International 47A2 Vacuum for High Pile Carpet

The Bissell 47A2 is the cheaper alternative to the 66E1 that still delivers the same results with just a little bit more effort on your part. The biggest difference between the 66E1 and the 47A2 is that the later does cannot be separated in 2. So you will need to get the entire vacuum close to your car or stairs for it to work. Still, you can use the hose with attached brushes to deep clean those hard to reach places, the only inconvenience being that you have to drag the whole thing with you. The advantages of the 47A2 are that, despite costing almost half of the price of the 66E1, it still has the Heatwave technology, a dual rotating brush system with 10 rows of thistles, and a very convenient Edge Sweep brush system. For those reasons we think that the Bissell 47A2 is the best choice for most users.
3. Bissell CleanView with OnePass Vacuum for High Pile Carpet

The Bissell 9595 is one of the most loved vacuums for high pile carpet, with a 4.5 star rating on Amazon from over 1,100 customers. That love was generated as much by the penetrating cleaning power of the Bissell 9595, as well as by its incredibly low price. Bissell were able to keep the price so low because, although they used the powerful suction of their Cyclonic System, the 9595 does not have the option to deep clean with water. Instead, it uses a multilayered filtration system that keeps not only the dirt inside the vacuum, but also most of the allergens and fine dust particles. Of course, if you want a wider selection of this type of vacuum, make sure to also check out our Top 10 Best Commercial Vacuum Cleaners of 2014 list.
4. Bissell 3624 Professional Spot Cleaner Deep Clean Portable
Click here for the best price and more details
The Bissell 3624 is a deep cleaning high pile carpet cleaner that was designed to be used only on small surfaces, particularly stains and tough to reach spots. You can use it to clean your entire home, but seeing how the widest nozzle is only 6 inches long, it is going to take you a really long time to get the entire living room clean. However, with the Bissell 3624 you do get 6 different tools designed for cleaning the stairs and 3 tools for nasty, difficult stains. You also get an 8 oz. Professional Deep Cleaning formula that really takes the cleaning power of the Bissell tools to another level.

If you feel that you need to consider other brands besides Bissell, your best bet would be to go with the Hoover SteamVac. It uses hot tap water and a 5 brushes system to dislodge the dirt from even the deepest riches of the carpet, and then sucks that dirt up with its powerful 12 Amps motor. It is so good that almost 5,000 happy customers decided to come back and award it an average of 4.2 stars rating on Amazon. It is one of the best vacuums we have tried and it is one of the cheapest you will be able to get for the incredibly small price Hoover is asking for it.
6. Hoover Windtunnel Air Bagless Upright Vacuum
Click here for the best price and more details
If you do not need a vacuum that also uses water to dislodge dirt, like would be the case if you also need to vacuum hardwood floors, the Hoover Windtunnel may be a better choice. It uses the Windtunnel technology to create an upright vortex that will suck the dirt right out of the carpet. Of course it also helps that the Hoover has its own brush system to help with reaching every bit of dirt. however, the one thing that really makes the Windtunnel a fierce competition for the 9595 is the fact that it has a washable HEPA filter which is guaranteed to retain 99.97 of all known allergens.

8. BISSELL PowerSteamer PowerBrush Full Sized Carpet Cleaner
Click here for the best price and more details
The 1623 is one of the oldest Bissell vacuums for high pile carpet that is still on the market, but we thought it was good enough to feature it on our list. It uses a 5 row brush to lift the dirt out of the carpet after it has been loosened by its powerful jet of water. It also comes with a 3 inch nozzle that attaches to the hose to allow you to clean hard to reach places or tough stains.
9. Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum for High Pile Carpet
Click here for the best price and more details
There are just 2 reasons why we decided to feature the Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus on our top 10 best vacuums for high pile carpet list. The first is that it is an incredibly cheap vacuum that still has a HEPA filter so it is a blessing for people with allergies. The second reason is that it only weight 8 pounds and that is to say it is a very light vacuum to own. It may not sound like the most professional vacuum, but we were impressed by how well it performed both in getting the dirt out of the carpet and at keeping every particle in.
10. BISSELL Zing Bagless Canister Vacuum for High Pile Carpets
Click here for the best price and more details
Bissell too have an entry level vacuum and they call it the Zing. It is your typical vacuum cleaner but with enough power to handle low to medium high carpets. It uses a very decent 3 level filtration system, which although not as efficient as a HEPA system, it is still quite good. The cleaning head can go from cleaning carpets to hardwood floors in an instant, and you can either retract or use the bristles to get the dirt out.
