Today is a special day, the
22nd birth date of my bias Yixing or his name stage name Lay. For a
lot of people today is just another ordinary day in their lives (omg I start
school today for term 4 T_T), but for me and many other fans it is a day that
will mean a lot. I know there are fans out there that are living in South Korea
who get to see Yixing on his birthday but that does not mean we still can’t
celebrate it with him. I know can’t do much to actually help Yixing today but
in the future if he sees the hard work international fans do for him on his
birthday it would be a gift that he will be able to remember.
Can you guys remember when
Lay’s teaser first came out? That feeling we got when we saw his dancing, the
awe that he left us in when the teaser came to an end. Imagine EXO without our
healing unicorn, who would be there to spill all of EXO’s secret on live
interviews? (Hehehe that time he said that Luhan kicks people off his bed ~) We
can’t imagine EXO without Yixing because it is not possible, and we can’t
imagine EXO without any of the other members either because EXO is one with
themselves and most importantly with their fans.
How hard was it for him to
move away from his family all the way to South Korea to achieve his dreams? The
18 hours he spent a day training during his debut days and sometimes even now.
The jam-packed schedules he has and he still manages to be so kind-hearted and
always smiling and appreciating all the fans that come to see him live whether
it’s on Music Bank, Inkigayo or any other live music shows.
He’s done so much for us and
I actually do really feel bad when saseang fans do those actions that cause
harm/pain to him or any of the other exo members.
What I admire about Yixing is that the moment he starts dancing
his whole face expression changes and the way he moves is flawless. It is no wonder
that he is main dancer, his dancing just all seems so natural and it is like
he is specially gifted with the talent. It is perfect and no one in the world can ever
replace him. He was talented even as a child, appearing on all these Chinese (I’m
not sure if they were variety shows or just talent shows?) shows and even
though he did not come first (I think it mentioned he came third) he managed to
push himself further to improve his skills and got accepted into SM, and then
debuted into this awesome boy group known today as exo. I remember when I was
around 8 which was when Yixing made his first show appearance or maybe he was a
bit younger, anyways unlike Yixing I was not appearing on shows at that age I was
nowhere near close to what he was doing I was actually lying on the couch with
my Nintendo DS playing Mario games. Heh.

Years will have passed and then I will probably be married and have kids of my own, but I will
remember this day that I wrote this blog for Yixing’s birthday and I will never
forget the birth dates of all the other exo members and those days might be the
days that I will walk down memory lane and I will look years back into time reflecting
and remembering that one boy group that made my heart flutter and whom I spent
my time following and nights crying and celebrating over their wins and
achievements.
By then younger boy groups
will debut and exo will have probably disbanded and by then (they will probably
be married to the girl they love because we cannot expect them to stay single
forever) kids/teenagers in that generation might not know of exo, but I know
for me and many others fans out there internationally exo will always have a
special spots in our hearts that no one else can replace with. But you will always
remember your bias, that one boy or in some cases girl (for fanboys) saving
pictures of them and getting excited whenever you see them on your Tumblr
dashboard/Fan sties even if it was not in real life like other privileged and
lucky fans out there.

I actually think one of best
things I have gained from this fandom (even if it’s a crazy fandom :3 ) is the
friendships and bonds I have made with the amazing people around the world that
share the same interest as me and understand the way I feel. I hope that even
after exo have stopped promoting, I hope I can keep those relationships with them and still
continue to fangirl over exo together. I have gained so many friends online from
sites such as Asianfanfics, Facebook fan pages, Fan sites in Korea (Polarlight
and etc), Tumblr, this amazing fan site EXOdicted and much more. Of course I
would never give up those friendships because I treat those friendships just
like the way I treat my friendships with my friends I know in real life. While
on the topic of my friends (they are not exo fans) they actually think I am
crazy going making friends online with random people but they don’t know that these
people online are not random but in fact I have shared moments with these amazing people whenever
exo has released a new song/music video or have appeared live and it is something I cant do with them because they do not understand my love for exo. They mean as much to me
as exo does. If exo never debuted I would never have been able to communicate
with these special people so I would like to give a big and warm thanks to exo for giving so much to me.
I also want say that every single one of you guys out there are such angels. I never expected to be able to talk with such lovely people but I guess life likes to throw surprises at you along every step you take throughout life.
Always just remember the quote ‘WE ARE
ONE’, that should mean that fans are not just one with exo but also with each other. We should not argue and create fan wars. I actually never want to start an
argument with any of exo’s fan, I don’t even want to argue with saseang fans
because that will just cause more stress to exo so I just ignore saseang fans. Indeed I
actually look up to the many authors who are exo fans that write such fantastic
and breath-taking fan fictions such as Anterograde Tomorrow, 10080, Absolute
Chanyeol, 48 Hours and much more. I also love the exo fans that make and edit
such fantastic graphics. I love photography and I admire all the works of edits
that exotics have done. I also enjoy how we can all correct each other’s
mistakes especially when writing fan fictions, we can help each other and give
advice on how to improve our skills. I also think there are also many talented
exo fans that upload YouTube covers of themselves dancing or singing alone or
in groups, I always comment encouraging words and advice for them like how I mentioned before on how
they can improve and I hope they will do the same for me.
Finally this fandom made me
know the feeling of being united with people globally and sticking through all
the tough times that exo have experienced or are going to be experiencing. Let’s
all continue to support exo in the right way and make them know that they are the
shining start in our lives~

Wow this was over 2500 words, I know it was long but I really did have a lot to say and I know I did get extremely sidetracked in the middle of this article by talking about my gains from this fandom and other things but I hope you guys know that I meant every single word and sentence I said in this article. I had put a lot of feelings, effort and time into this blog
post so I hope you guys enjoyed reading this.

-okay I know it’s pretty crap but sadly my school laptop does not allow me to download media programs such as Vegas Pro/Sony Vegas so I got stuck with Windows Movie Maker. I also edited this during school times so it was a bit of a rush but I hope you enjoy it anyways and I am thinking of discussing with my school technician if they will allow me to just download Vegas Pro so the next time when I make a video for one of the exo member’s birthday or special event it will be better quality, better graphics and better editing.
